Well he did liberate Iraq, and topple Sadam.

The guy had a mission and got it done.

I cant say I feel the same way about Obama and his little Afgan he is weaving.

Liberate Iraq from Saddam and replace his tyranny with an American Occupation to the tune of TRILLIONS of tax dollars while simultaneously eliminating the only Sunni Power that was actually keeping Iran in check, thereby allowing them to pursue their nuclear ambitions and increasing their regional power significantly.  AWESOME!!!

Yup, that's a good way to judge a President.  As long as he or she picks a mission and gets er' done, I guess that means they were good.  It doesn't matter whether the mission they choose has an actual positive cost/bennefit ratio for the American people.  As long as we satisfy some blood lust and mortgage our children's future to do it, it's all good.

Dude PowerStroker, you are pathetic.

Saddam keeping Iran in check? Please bitch. Since we liberated Iraq they will have to pay US for the expences of the war. That is likley the main conditions of the withdrawl of US troops.

The only person mounting up debt for future generations is your boy Obama who throws money at a problem, rather than doing the WORK that is required. We all know how that will end.

1000000 Estimated Iraqis killed by Saddam prior to 2003

1033000 Estimated Iraqis killed between 2003-2007

source: Opinion Business Research via Wikipedia

Geez Rex, It took Saddam 30 years to kill a million Iraqis, and it only took Bush 4 years to break that record.  What a great liberator indeed.  Your personal share of the debt required for this liberation is $8000 and counting.  Was it worth it Rex?  That 8 grand would have bought some nice health care for your family, or maybe a couple hoists in your garage.

What makes you think The Iraqis are going to be "paying us back" anything for our generous liberation.  Could you post a link to a credible news source please?

Obama is spending money like crazy to invest in restarting our economy which has been badly damaged.  Unfortunately that is the only way to fix it.  It's called Keynesian economics, named after the famous economist John Maynard Keynes, and essentially means pay what it takes to stimulate demand otherwise the entire economy can go off a cliff and then we would be in some serious trouble.  This is what President Hoover failed to do and eventually resulted in the first Great Depression.  Obama is a student of history, I only wish you were.

How would you suggest fixing the broken economy Rex?

LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL!

So if we apply Owebama's little plan to every day life, "SPEND OUR WAY OUT", how do you feel it will end? BANKRUPT? Yep...

If every American went out and purchased things they could not afford to stimulate the economy, what would happen? This plan Owebama suggest is just plain ignorant! It's the kind of Clinton thinking that boosted home values only to leave people like yourself upside down in your homes, and many of them stand to LOOSE their homes.

Wake the fuck up!

I didnt run for president, so I cant say I have the inside knowledge to offer a suggestion on how to fix the economy, however letting some business fail, while others get a pass sure seems like the WRONG answer. Throwing money at problems is fine, when its YOUR money. When Owbama talks about throwing money at problems, its not HIS money. Any word yet on that charity that Obama was planning on giving his Nobel Prize money to?

You misunderstood my friend.  I'm not suggesting all of us go out and buy a bunch of shit at Wal Mart to help stimulate the Chinese economy.  I'm suggesting the Government make infrastructure investments that we need anyway, which will also put people back to work.  These projects are expensive, but by putting all of those people back to work we will increase income tax revenue and consumer discretionary spending by all of the people who now find themselves employed on such projects.  This is how FDR got us out of the great depression.  And one of the reasons the Hoover Dam and Eisenhower interstate highway system was built.  These projects have paid back the initial investment several times over and will continue to do so.  They also put a lot of people to work.

Stoma didnt have to buy anyone gifts this year. He just buys himself stuff online during the holidays.

Speaking of Wal-mart, I purchased some Nerf long swords from Target for $20 each, then someone told me they were selling them for $8.00 at Wal-Mart. I cant say for sure its true, because I dont dare park my Benz in a crowded Wal-Mart parking lot. Your Yugo must fit in just fine in the Wal-Mart parking lot Stoma!

Some say Wal-Mart should focus more on American made goods, but they definatly keep the China people busy making cheap shit for us to throw away. I must admit they are getting better... Now I notice that the Lionel train is made in China, along with just about everything else "Toy" related. They even make the iPhone in China.

Oh trust me... They will pay... Unless your boy Obama fucks it up.

Of course there is no price that can be placed on the loss of life during the Iraq war. This however only seems to be an issue when Republicans are in office, as dont see Obama or the Democrats taking this into consideration with regards to Afghanistan, a place that really has NO WAY of paying us back. Add in the fact that Obama has NO CLEAR OBJECTIVE and you have what many should consider a bad investment of American life and money.

As you have stated before PowerStroker, places like Afghanistan and now Yemen that have these terror camps and cells should be dealt with by way of intelligence, satellite surveillance and weaponized drone aircraft, something that would be more effective rather than investing American life.

We're 8 years into this war and haven't seen a dime. a couple blog posts and an article about some wing nut idea of passing legislation that magically turns this venture into something we can bill Iraq for, is nothing in the way of proof that we will ever see any money from the Iraqi people. We never entered into a legally binding contract with that country, and thus we can't expect them to pay any bill we send them. This idea that they will pay unless "Obama fucks it up" is ridiculous. Why didn't Bush send them a bill already??? Saddam has been gone a lot longer than Bush. Did your boy forget, or does he know like I do that America won't see a dime for this. He knew this all along, and so did the rest of the college educated country.

I am pretty sure its not the top priority of our government to brag about our plunder in Iraq, but you can be sure it had importance at the time and needed to be done.

There was a CLEAR mission. Topple Saddam. That mission was accomplished. The war effort was not made up of DRAFTED troops. That means fighting in the war was not MANDITORY. There was no FINES sent to people who did not wish to join the Army.

Since when was the assassination attempt on his daddy ever used as his public explanation for our need to go to war? As I recall, first it was weapons of Mass destruction which was found to be false, then a false link to 911 and Bin Laden, then about liberating Iraq from a dictator when all else was proven false.

How do you know that taking out Saddam wasnt killing two birds with one stone? He could have been behind Reagan's assasination attempt too for all we know!

Do you know who was behind Reagan's assasination attempt? Prolly the same fuckers that went after Bush!

I should think people would realize the consiqences of such actions, and if they didnt, they should now. I am more than sure Obama is riding on the message that was sent after Iraq when it comes to fucking with our President.

Yeah sure Rex, everything bad that ever happens is the result of some brown Arab Muslim dude -  Right!!!

Actually the guy who tried to whack Reagan was from Oklahoma and had ties to the Bush family...

250px-Reagan_assassination_attempt_3.jpg

Crowds outside the Washington Hilton Hotel after the assassination attempt on President Reagan.

On March 30, 1981, Hinckley fired a .22 caliber Röhm RG-14 revolver six times at Reagan as he left the Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., after addressing an AFL-CIO conference. The gun, which cost $47.00, was manufactured by Röhm Gesellschaft, a West German company, and assembled in Miami by its American subsidiary, R.G. Industries, Inc.[4]ATF agents determined that the gun was bought at Rocky's Pawn Shop in Dallas, Texas.[5] It was loaded with six Devastator rounds, which have lead azide-filled centers within lacquer-sealed aluminum tips designed to explode on impact, though all failed to do so.[6]

Hinckley wounded press secretary James Brady, police officer Thomas Delahanty, and Secret Service agent Timothy McCarthy. Hinckley did not directly hit Reagan, but seriously wounded him when a bullet ricocheted off the side of the presidential limousine and hit him in the chest.[7] Hinckley did not attempt to flee and was arrested at the scene. All of the shooting victims survived, although Brady, who was hit in the right side of the head, endured a long recuperation period and remained paralyzed on the left side of his body.

Bush-Hinckley family connections

According to the March 31, 1981, edition of the Houston Post, and reported by AP, UPI, NBC News and Newsweek, Hinckley is the son of one of George H.W. Bush's political and financial supporters in his 1980 presidential primary campaign against Ronald Reagan; John Hinckley, Jr.,'s elder brother, Scott Hinckley, and Bush's son Neil Bush had a dinner appointment scheduled for the next day.[9][10]

Associated Press published the following on March 31, 1981

The family of the man charged with trying to assassinate President Reagan is acquainted with the family of Vice-President George Bush and had made large contributions to his political campaign ... Scott Hinckley, brother of John W. Hinckley, Jr., was to have dined tonight in Denver at the home of Neil Bush, one of the Vice-President's sons ... The Houston Post said it was unable to reach Scott Hinckley, vice-president of his father's Denver-based firm, Vanderbilt Energy Corporation, for comment. Neil Bush lives in Denver, where he works for Standard Oil Company of Indiana. In 1978, Neil Bush served as campaign manager for his brother, George W. Bush, the Vice-President's eldest son, who made an unsuccessful bid for Congress. Neil lived in Lubbock, Texas, throughout much of 1978, where John Hinckley lived from 1974 through 1980.[11]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But don't let the facts deter you in any way toward your blaming Obama for the Reagan assasination attempt either Rex.

Whether the sorry state of affairs that your health care system is in is the fault of one leader or another doesn't really matter....

There are ways that America could free up funding to achieve so many lofty goals...

How can you tell when a politician is lying?

His lips are moving....

The problem is universal. The general public expects you to have the integrity they lack.... they expect you to display the honesty they refuse to return.... and they expect you to know your craft....

We're fucked....
