Getting a code P1345 on my customers 350 Vortec Express van. Things been going well, but a DTC P1345 code has cropped up. I know its not the distributor or crank sensor as they were replaced when we rebuilt the engine.

Seems to only pop on after starting it on a cold morning. Once its warm everything is fine. Spent 4 days trying to duplicate the condition and finally she reared her ugly head this morning. Seems 6 cranks is all it took to knock the battery on its ass. Put the booster on and it fired right up. Still getting this P1345 code saying the corelation between the cam/crank pick up is off. The China made aluminum distributor he ended up buying does not allow for adjustments and my marks are all dead on. I could use the other distributor hold down to allow slight 45 degree movements +/- however its dead nuts pointing to number one with the crank marks dead nuts as well.

Strange shit, but I am looking at possibly the knock sensor could be grounding out, causing it to retard, thus making it "think" the distributor is out. Runs great, lots of power. Only problem is that cold start in the morning. Checked for a draw and that is within specs.

I got the battery on trickle and I am going to load test it after it sits in the cold all night. See what she's got. In the mean time has anyone else dealt with a P1345?
