There's guy on the net, who insisted on hack-sawing his Hayabusa's in-tank-fuel-filter apart, in an effort to clean-it, as the replacement filter is around $400:00 USD....
So he does his thing, & solders the plastic outer case back together, & wonders why his bike doesn't run so well anymore....( 3.0 bar fuel pressure here folks )...
(All you have to do, is squirt a can of throttle-body-cleaner ( or similar ) with that small-pointy-nozzle-attachment in the reverse-flow direction, to remove all the shyte)....
