One of the worst things you can do for a performance engine is to install factory or torque to yield head bolts! These bolts are crap and saving money is about the only reason I can see that GM went with them.
Scrap the factory head bolts. Use ARP head bolts. Be sure to put orange silicone on all the threads and torque to 75 Foot Pounds in sequence.
ARP bolts have been tested here in our shop and I would not use anything else. You can really feel the diffrence between an ARP and a facory head bolt.
Check out the private forum for full details about ARP's VS Stock.
Have a look at ARP head bolts next to the TTY factory bolts. Not only is there a visual diffrence, but you can really feel the diffrence when you lock down the heads.
Pretty obvious you didn't read the instructions that came in the box of ARP bolts, regarding what to put on the threads before installation.

Its pretty obvious you dont work on Chevy engines or you would know that there is coolant jackets on the bottom run of head bolts. Try just using the special ARP lube and you soon have anti-freeze seeping out of every one of the lower "Short" bolts.
What have you got to say for yourself now?

I used silicone ONCE, and got to do the job again, because the fucking things leaked. Use a PTFE type thread sealer.
