Will Boehner blink?

I predict Boehner will blink, and call for a last minute vote for a clean debt ceiling increase, which enough Republicans will vote for in order to pass.

Obama has been playing chess against Republican checkers for a long time now.  The outcome is predictable because Obama knows the Wall Street wing of the Republican party won't allow a default because they know it will damage their own personal wealth.  And since we all know it's the Wall Street wing of the Republican party that pulls the strings of the rest of it, all that's left is the political posturing before the inevitable defeat of the right wingers to make any changes to Obamacare.

Does anyone actually think this is going to play out any other way???

Here is what I think PowerStroker...

Obama is in bed with these big Wall Street types. Many in his administration are ex-Wall Streeters. I think the shutdown come the 16th of October will hit many people by surprise, because we have flirted with this position many times in the past.

These "Wall-Streeters" you refer to PowerStroker were not hurting back then, and they are not hurting now. The DOW has been ON FIRE for some time in the 15k range. When something bad happens like what could happen on October 16th that will drive down the market, but that will allow the Rich to buy at super low prices.

What would be bad for most of us is VERY GOOD for the few with money to buy and ride out the storm. That my friend is the "American Way".

So while it's still too soon to tell there are rumors that it is Obama who will buckle-

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/05/president-repeats-willingness-to-negotiate-obamacare-changes-amid-increasing/

Still, with Republicans selectively piece-mailing the Government back together it's apparent they are in it for the long haul and any negotiations with Obama will be PRIOR to the lifting of any limits or putting the Government back to work.

Again, because everyone is relatively at ease with the shut-down thus far, it's a clear indication they have become used to it under Obamas Administration. It could come as a real surprise to many but I think Obama's easiest way out is to extend the mandate for 1 year until he gets at least the website sorted. If the current exchanges/systems can't handle the load now, it means it's not ready. We as Americans should not be taxed for something that is as flawed as Obama care. You know damn well if Obama's system delivered I would be the first to say "Damn that plan's good!" But it isnt!

I mean c'mon PowerStroker! ^^^ This is unacceptable!! And the very idea that Obama is going to try to sell us insurance in the middle of a government shutdown shows how much of a rush job this was/is!

Boehner won't blink. He will back Obama into Check-Mate should Obama continue to force this mandate on Americans.

I wouldn't count on it PowerStroker.

It may come as a shock to you; however there are many people who realize that the government should not have to borrow to stay afloat. Obama has been afforded more money than any other President in US history, and now it is time for Obama to show Americans how that money was used. Since Obama wants even MORE borrowed money it's a sign that the money he has been given was wasted. Had Obama been as good as he likes to "think" he is then why does the US government need another loan to keep the doors open?

Now Obama wants to put Americans healthcare in the "general" ledger much like what Democrats did with Social Security. Just more money for the government to waste and then leave people holding the bag.

Having been the Plaintiff in an ongoing lawsuit I can tell you exactly why this nation is so fucked up. I must have literally killed 4 or 5 trees alone in my year and a half battle in court. It would appear as each progression of this process unfolds I will kill another 4 or 5 tree's to relay a very simple point. There are no limits to stupidity when it comes to our current process of litigation which is VERY similar to what we are seeing in Washington DC. Absolute and total disregard for simple facts, allowing people to argue uncontestable facts as if there is no accountability or reason. Arguing for the sake of arguing. The institutions, be it Court Houses, House of Representatives, Senate and even the SCOTUS who by the way is just a court that hears an argument that has already reached the point of insanity. Is it perfect? No, but it does allow people the opportunity to be heard, yet the process is so wasteful one has to wonder if it's really a viable option to handle a problem.

I see a lot of what I have been doing in the courts as the same kinds of wastefulness that is the "status-quo" when it comes to resolving a problem. Seems to me these government ideas needed to be vetted by the American people, cutting out these middlemen who otherwise argue for the sake of arguing on our behalf, often times not even addressing our primary concerns.

It's like political parties have become the new "Sports Teams". The Red vs. The Blue. Democrat vs. Republican.

Boehner spoke about this-

This isn't a damn game! The government cost more to run than it takes in. The healthcare.gov website is not ready for public use. These are SIMPLE FACTS!

And yet the government is back open, without any holes being drilled in Obamacare. Isn't that a blink?

I'd say a serious hole was drilled in Obamacare.

People have already come to terms with the fact Republicans are keeping a short leash on the purse strings. The spotlight was cast on Obamacare and it's quite clear people do not accept the level of service being offered by the Obamacare system.

The bottom line here? Even with the subsidies many people simply will not be able to afford coverage. You and many Democrats seem to think just getting everyone enrolled means success. Most healthy younger people will find the new cost of being forced to purchase health care far exceeds the cost of the fine, leaving them without insurance pretty much the same as always but with a new fine to pay.

It's really pathetic that someone would even have to explain this to you. If it's not good enough for the people in congress then it's not good enough for the American people. Simply put... Come January the Government will once again require an increase in the debt ceiling.

While I feel Republicans let me down at 11pm October 16th 2013 by joining in with Democrats to kick the can down the road, it certainly wasnt a victory for Democrats. If anything it was more or less a stay of execution in accountability. Ill bump this thread three months from now, see where we are at.
