No rights violation here. The First Amendment has to do with GOVERNMENT and an individual's right to free speech, not A&E & an individual's right to free speech. Anyone who says different doesn't understand what the First Amendment is.
Pretty much the same thing recently (and rightfully) happened with MSNBC to Martin Bashir, with regard to the comments he made about Sarah Palin.
I don't really care for Duck Dynasty anyway however my feelings are such that people should be able to think and feel how they want. In this case someone got fired for having an opinion. This is wrong. People should be able to hate anyone they want, for whatever reason they want. Would people rather go thru life not knowing how people feel? I don't feel discrimination is fair either, and it would seem A&E is discriminating this Duck Dude for his personal thoughts, none of which are displayed in his TV shows.
It's crazy, and I really think homosexuals need to worry more about being homo's and less about what other people think of them. This idea people should accept and agree with homosexuality has gone too far. You do what you want but don't expect me to agree and advocate it.
I think Duck Dynasty was starting to fizzle, and this was just a advertising plug for A&E to kill two birds with one stone. No advertising is bad advertising.

Hell, even Cracker Barrel jumped on and off the advertising bandwagon a few times with this story.
Couldn't have been as bad as seeing Nelson Mandela's picture on Apples home page for a week... A guy who up until 2008 was on the No Fly list! I can't help but to feel like Obama is trying to set the bar low for himself. I also feel like I got a front row seat on how history gets rewritten. Next thing you know they will be wanting to give Hitler awards.
So what do I care what A&E or Cracker Barrel, Duck Dynasty Dude, or even Nelson Mandela thinks? I don't think the fact A&E is giving duck dynasty the boot has any effect on how I feel about "The Walking dead". Just like I don't really think Ill be any more inclined to visit the Cracker Barrel, with or without Duck Dynasty merchandise. And just because Nelson Mandela fought to end the apartheid doesn't mean I think he had a very high opinion of Americans, white or black for that matter.
So there you have it.

Well, looks like A&E is reinstating the Duck Dynasty patriarch. This is a classic case of money winning out over principles. Basically A&E didn't want to kill their golden goose.
I don't have a problem with A&E's decision (they can do what they want). But clearly it was a knee-jerk reaction to what was expressed/printed in GQ magazine, and they didn't have an end-game in place, so they had to backtrack on their decision.
Now they look like a bunch of spineless weenies (something that Stoma identifies with intimately).
I've never -- not once -- watched Duck Dynasty because we only get our TV online through Netflix and Hulu.
