Ebola in Texas! Possibly 100 people exposed!

Well here we are, in a real fine mess indeed!

I can't help but to think the lack of executive action has caused this problem. You would think instead of putting our men and women in harms way to fight Ebola in other countries that it would have been much easier and less risky to have just prevented any and all flights to and from these Ebola stricken countries. But no, that makes entirely too much sense..

Now, after America sending troops and returning infected people back to the U.S. for treatment, all of these nations fighting with Ebola got it in their heads that if they can somehow make it to America, they can be saved! Again, poor choices by our leader that are having serious repercussions on us.

So now the virus is loose, and I can't help but to think our commander in chief wasted precious time campaigning, vacationing and otherwise screwing off instead of dealing with the issue in the most pragmatic and efficient way.. Which would have been to simply seal the boarders and restrict inbound flights from these Ebola stricken nations.

What do you think?

Intresting, I don't seem to remember you blaming SARS or H1N1 on Bush.

We're people being quarantined and their stuff burnt with H1N1 or SARS? Was the mortality rate anywhere near what Ebola is?

Were the boarders wide open with a welcome mat under Bush?

The answer is a resounding NO!

Actually there are more border patrol agents and more deportations under the Obama administration.

And fewer buildings being taken down by terrorists I might add.

CDC claims travel bans will worsen the spread of Ebola?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/10/05/cdc-says-no-ebola-for-district-patient-still-not-inclined-to-close-us-points/

WTF!? Is the CDC working for Obama and the Democrats! There is absolutely no logic in what the CDC is claiming! Obama HAD to put them up to saying that! Because it stands to reason that preventing people from Ebola stricken nations from entering the country WOULD limit our exposure to the deadly virus!

I'd like to see Official documentation that includes head counts and names to back up that fraud of a statement PowerStroker! It's just more lies from the Obama Administration! He's not deporting these illegals PowerStroker! He is giving them amnesty, health care and entitlements that aught to be reserved for Americans!

With regards to your reference to the 9/11 WTC terrorist attack.. All I can say is at least Bush smoked Saddam out of a cave and handed him over to the Kurds to stand trial for war crimes! Even today you can go on YouTube and watch that man hang! Which is more than I can say for the ISIS beheadings that are being used to suck us back into another war in the Middle East!

And how about Osama? Did we get any video proof he is gone? Hell no! Instead our Muslim President decided to dump his body at sea, in an effort to show "respect" for the man who claimed responsibility for your aforementioned 911 terrorist attacks! You and anyone who supports this administration are absolute FOOLS!

The CDC is not political, they serve all of us. Just like the military, postal service, justice department, FDA, and on and on. Just because President Obama has hiring and firing powers for all of the aforementioned, does not mean he uses all departments of the government to impose a radical left wing agenda which includes giving ebola to cranky Republicans... That happens naturally.

Such a shame you can't see past your partisan blinders and realize that poor management at the top filters down to all.

Take for example the multiple USPS shortfalls we have had under Obama

Take for example the multiple leaks and defectors we have had in the military under Obama, and the fact we are having to go back into Iraq due to his poor management.

Take for example the corruption in the Justice Department that lead to the AG resigning under Obama

Take for example the poor job the CDC has done under Obama (Ebola has been around since the 70's and never on American soil except for during Obama's tenure)

Take for example all of the problems and slip-up's in the FDA under Obama - in fact I think you made a thread complaing about them in the past!

And YES! You are correct! The list goes ON and ON and ON and ON... To the IRS scandles, record breaking government debt, record breaking government assistance to citizens (welfare), record breaking increases in healthcare cost, record breaking scandles and cover-ups...

I think it's clear to see the problems all propogated from the top! I think it's high time we do something about it too!

VOTE REPUBLICAN NOV. 4TH and lets take out the trash!

LOL,

It sounds like elections are looming on the horizon....

You should not let any-one that has arrived home from a country known to have the Ebola infection out in the public, without being quarantined first. They also should not be allowed to fly into such places, & must at least be placed in quarantine when they arrive back home !

Why would you want to go there ?

It's obvious every since Obama and his CDC started flying infected people back here for treatment the word gets out that if you have Ebola -- go to the USA and you'll be cured.

That perception may have since changed with the passing of Duncan, but given the level of deaths in Africa I'm sure anyone infected or exposed would at least try their luck here if they had the means to get here.

It would almost see as Obama is trying to help Africa, at our expense. I have always felt Obamas loyalties are not first and foremost with the USA, but with other nations. Heck the guy pretty much grew up in Kenya, and got over there for Nelson Mandellas funeral; yet anyone else with close ties to the USA gets looked over. He wasn't at Margret Thatchers funeral, which means he has little respect for our allies.

Republican's Blame Ebola on Obama Ploy Backfires

The instant the Ebola crisis hit American shores, the inevitable happened. The GOP blamed President Obama for it. First, it was the lame brained borderline racist charge that Obama either deliberately or through sheer incompetence did nothing to seal the borders to keep the virus at bay. The only slightly more intelligible attack was that Obama did nothing to command the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to take panic measures to insure no incidence of the disease would turn up in the country. Then the GOP campaign strategists stepped in and had some of its top candidates suddenly parroting the kooky line that Obama was to blame for a supposedly porous and negligent CDC and border security lapse. Obama's appointment of an "Ebola Czar" provided even more grist for the GOP hit mill on Obama. It was variously blown off as too little, too late or ridiculed as a desperate appointment of a supposedly medically unqualified political crony.

This is political gamesmanship of the lowest order, playing on media and public fears over a legitimate and terrifying health crisis, to again belittle Obama. And with the stakes sky high in the 2014 midterm elections, the dirty political pool by the GOP was totally predictable.

But the twist in the Ebola saga is that the dirty hit job has backfired. The attack opened the GOP wide open to media and public scrutiny of the galling fact that the GOP has systematically whittled away vital funding for dozens of health programs since 2010. The CDC, much the whipping agency for the supposed Obama health dereliction, was stripped of nearly $600 million; millions that could have gone to ramp up monitoring, screening, and education programs, as well as research on vaccines to deal with infectious and communicable diseases. The names of the more than two dozen Republicans who poleaxed the CDC budget have been published. And to no surprise the bulk of them are either directly affiliated with or have been in part bankrolled by tea party factions. In September, there were initial reports that House Republicans would cut almost half of the nearly $100 million that the White House wanted earmarked to fight Ebola. It didn't happen not because of any sudden epiphany by the GOP House members to provide all the funding that the White House asked for the program, but because word had quickly leaked out about the defunding possibility, and that would have been a PR nightmare that even the most rabid anti-Obama House Republicans knew was fraught with deep peril.

GOP leaders have hit back hard on the charge that they are somehow to blame for any laxity in the fight against Ebola by claiming that Obama and the Democrats have also made cuts in the NIH budget and that those cuts are the reason for any shortfall in the CDC's funding for programs. That's true as far as it goes. But what the GOP conveniently omits is that the cuts to the NIH budget and indeed all other health and education and domestic spending program cuts were agreed to by Obama with the GOP jamming a virtual political gun to his head demanding he sign off on cuts as the draconian price for ending gridlock over the deficit war.

Now in the backdrop of a potential catastrophic health nightmare, the cuts have suddenly become as big a political campaign tug of war as the blame game about Ebola. But it's one that the GOP can't win. Because it, not Obama and the Democrats, have been firmly identified in the public eye as the ones that have consistently sledge hammered the Obama administration and Congress to cut, cut, and cut some more spending. No matter how much the right wing gnashes its teeth, shouts and moans and attempts to turn the table and finger-point Obama for the funding fall off in the Ebola fight, it won't change that naked reality. The hit ads that Democrats took out lambasting the GOP for the funding cuts are believable not because of any numbers accuracy or inaccuracy but in part because of public belief that when it comes to pound saving, the GOP will go to any length to save a dollar at the expense of vital programs.

The ads are believable in greater part because the GOP has left no stone unturned in its ruthless and relentless drive to use any and every crisis real or manufactured to paint Obama as a weak, ineffectual and failed president and presidency. It has banked on, and stoked, the frozen political divide in the country knowing that a wide segment of the public has open, unabashed contempt for his policies and his administration. The GOP banks that it can swivel this divisiveness into sustained opposition to those policies, and that it can further boost its numbers in the House and especially the Senate in the 2014 midterm elections. The ultimate aim is to translate the incessant hit attacks on Obama into a White House win in 2016.

The Ebola scare gave the GOP another seemingly readymade opportunity to blame Obama for yet another crisis. But this time the signs are good that the ploy has backfired.

Too lazy to write your own stuff huh?

Or did you juat feel it genuinely related to reality?

In either case -- I think you can clearly see it wasn't Bushes fault... If only because Obama has been President for 6 years. LOL

So now Ebola has been in N.Y. -- and given the fact we're less than a week away from a major election -- I cringe to think of what's being held back from us by our so called "transparent" administration.

Since your last response PowerStroker, it has become clearly obvious the White House opposes any reasonable efforts to contain Ebola. Any reasonable Dr. who goes to help fight Ebola in Africa should have no problems isolating themselves for 21 days! Why would they ever want to expose their countrymen to such a virus!?

And what of this Doctors Without Boarders organization!? Are they looking out for the best interest of our Doctors? And the safety of our citizens of the country they will return? That doesn't seem to be the case!

hey speaking of elections. Did you hear they are expecting such a high turnout that they had to split it in to two voting days?
Dems on Tuesday, and Republicans on Wednesday.

It seems Democrats were the one to vote Wednesday.

Then again -- I don't think Democrats could even gut the garbage coming out of the WH -- and thus just stayed home on Tuesday.
