Any violation of this paragraph shall be a felony punishable by a fine in any amount not exceeding $5,000, or imprisonment of not more than 5 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution.

Sounds like a $5000 / 5 year Felony to me... But obviously I am no legal scholar when it comes to courts run by liberal-Democrat Jews. To these types the law is whatever best suits them at the moment.
It never ceases to amaze me that most people don't understand how business deductions work... Any business that would rather pay taxes, rather than re-invest their profits into the company - be it via equipment purchases or incentives and or rebates for it's customers (you and I), isn't going to be a very viable business for long. I am actually shocked that Trump wasn't able to write off more deductions to run in the red, however he could have carried them losses over to 2006- current... It may well be that this tax return was leaked as bait, if only to make the left wing media look like idiots for saying all this time that Trump didn't pay taxes, when in fact he has. Obviously 2008-2016 would have been very bad years for Trump, if only because Obama BS policy all but devastated the economy despite being given $10 Trillion dollars over his 8 year term... Rachel was simply helping him keep a very public promise. Clearly he intended for his tax returns to be released, otherwise he wouldn't have made such a promise during the campaign.

I try to keep an open mind, and if such a thing did come from or support a Republican, I would potentially change my thinking on that specific matter.
I'm never stuck in liberal hack mode. When people show me information that is contrary to what I believe to be true, I am open to it. Just as I congratulated you for showing me the statute saying it is illegal for anyone to publish someone elses tax returns, and I had previously believed it was only illegal for the government to do so. I adjusted my thinking because you presented me with some truth I had previously been unaware of.
I only wish some of the truths I have shown you over the years could have a similar impact on you.
Well you have figure anyone giving you a loan outside credit cards is going to want to see your taxes... That being the case, I am sure a lot of companies and their employees have had their hands on Trumps returns, or any of us for that matter. Of course it would be illegal for ANYONE to publish them, that just seems like common sense anyway, No?

Yeah, you make a good point there. I always figured the reason banks etc didn't publish such things is because of privacy regulations imposed on them by the government, which is why I thought it was ok for Rachel to post the returns, but not a bank. The media not being regulated for good reason, and the banks not being regulated enough-for no good reason, but I digress.
There is speculation that Trump himself mailed it to David K Johnson because one of the forms said "client copy" and Trump has apparently had a history of leaking certain things. I wouldn't be surprised if he picked the year that he paid the highest effective tax rate and strategically leaked that one, but I have no way to be sure.
Yeah but you got to think about it like this PowerStroker, the people who work at the bank aren't the bank... They are just people! Should they copy someones taxes then anonymously send said returns to a reporter who then publishes them against the wishes of the owner, that's wrong! And at that point the responsibility to do the right thing falls on the shoulders of the news desk, reporter, or even the person who went out to the mail box and found them.
Once upon a time I went to a small lending organization in a strip mall for a loan under $5,000 to buy an older car that a bank would not loan on due to the age. When I applied online and was approved I went in to get my check but they wanted my tax returns, copies of my land contract and other information. By the looks of the people who were in there, and another applicants forms just laying on the table for me to see I didn't feel comfortable entrusting them with this information so I told them I was not invested in the loan because they did not appear reputable and no mention was made that I would have to give them such information online. I then filed a complaint on them.
I think it should also be illegal for banks or lenders to share your tax information or ANY information for that matter. I feel they should be required to keep it private and secure!

I think if Trump de-regulated banks it would not be to allow them to share customers information... I think it would have more to do with their lending, borrowing and investing practices.
