after the car started just fine, it was shut off, then when trying to start all electrical inside lights, hood light, dash lights cut out and don't turn back on unless you unhook and reconnect the battery, however, once you turn the key to where it should turn over all electrical cut out again. the only thing that makes a sound is a clicking sound coming from under the steering wheel. I can't find any loose wires, looked all over the internet and can't find any solution. If there's any suggestions or advice that would definitely help. Thanks in advance.
I agree with both ideas, I'd try jumping it first just to rule out a weak battery. Then I think i'd take a good look at the ignition switch in the steering column. Actually back in the day there was an issue with some of the columns that had a pin fall out of the linkage that connects the ign lock cylinder to the switch, but usually when that happened you would notice the key was very easy to turn because it wasn't actually actuating anything anymore.
Yeah, checking the battery voltage and connections would be the very first place to start. I keep assuming most people would check this first, but I guess someone who doesn't work on cars every day could overlook such basic things. I think a 1995 would still have a starter solenoid too? If that is the case you should probably check them connections also before digging around at the ignition switch.
