Yes, there's plenty of shit that Mr.Trump has given the Democrats to chew-on...- Yet alone the general US-of-A public !!!

Another classic post from our administrators !!!!!

If only Mr.Trump could somehow get Stoma back in here....

So how do you feel about your 2008 nominee for president voting with the Democrats to save Obamacare last night?

Personally, I'm very proud of him. Thank You Senator McCain! Thank you Senator Collins! Thank you Senator Murkowski! Thank you all Senate Democrats!

You couldn't resist sinking that knife in, eh PowerStroker!?

Of course I am highly annoyed with McCain! Especially since I voted for him!

I hate to say it, but McCain needs to retire and live out whats left of his life with his family... I seen McCain not long ago talking out of both sides of his mouth and it was really somewhat sad... This was before his diagnosis of brain cancer and even then I knew his time in politics was over. McCain is bitter, angry and worst of all he is now clinically proven to be unstable. The business of the people is much too important to bow to the dreams of a dying star. He needs to be replaced immediately and if he doesn't do so willingly, he needs to be forced out.

Very disappointed in McCain, more disappointed than when he lost the election to Obama, which is because he was incapable of putting aside his sense of entitlement.

Sad really...

You might not realize this, but if McCain didn't kill the bill, another Republican would have. McCain gave the remaining few moderate Republicans a chance to vote with their party though. This is why there were a handful of late Republican votes from members who were in the room the entire time, but wanted to make sure they could actually vote for it without risking it actually passing. This is actually a common practice on both sides of the aisle. While the vote total didn't show it, I estimate there were probably about 4-5 other Republicans who would have fallen on their sword the same way McCain did, but since McCain likely won't be around for the next election, he willingly took one for the country... Again.

This was no surprise to Mitch McConnell Either, If you watch the video of the vote you'll see McConnell was standing and watching McCain from just a few feet away, and while there were some gasps and applause in the room, McConnell was un-phased and had his pre-written speech ready for this outcome.

While McConnell is disappointed in the outcome of not freeing up enough money to give tax cuts to billionares by throwing tens of millions of people off of health insurance, part of him is relieved too that he doesn't have to defend the politics of so doing. He can rest easy tonight that he chose a very conservative hill to die on, and by so doing, will live to fight another day.

From all accounts Obamacare is pretty much destine to dry up very soon anyway...

Not sure what the problem is with moving forward proactively. All this nonsense is just going to force an already bad hand and Democrats ending up having to take less when the issue becomes urgent, which according to the numbers, will be soon.

This is just one of them times when you have to throw your hands up and seriously wonder what is really going on and what kind of "backroom deals" are really putting the brakes on getting healthcare in order. It's not like Republicans aren't trying! Democrats forced the bill into law with their supermajority, wondering if such drastic action is going to be required of the Republicans.

I'm pretty sure the Democrats no longer want to own the healthcare responsibility, as it is failing. Seems they want to ensure Republicans own it, which is what will happen if they change the vote count threshold.

You know, when Marco Rubio put a poison pill in a piece of legislation that resulted in the cancellation of Obamacare "risk corridors" or government assistance to insurance companies that ended up with a disproportionate share of high risk patients, the end result was the insurance companies had to raise their rates on everyone, and several companies pulled out of the exchanges.

Exactly as Senator Rubio intended.

If the people running the government would stop trying to make it fail, it wouldn't fail.

Trump is now threatening to withhold billions more in payments to insurance companies to further the Rubio plan and make the markets fail.

At some point we need to ask ourselves how much damage we should actually inflict on the American people in order to strip the legacy from a brown guy.

What are you talking about? Pelosi and the Democrat congress rammed it down and Obama just signed it. Total partisan effort with absolutely not a single Republican vote (for once).

I don't know... Seems like there could be a better way, as my income starts to increase I'll be having to buy a plan rather than get a subsidy... I'd much rather have some good coverage at a fair price.. I feel very lucky and thankful for what I got, but I don't dare use it... The idea that if I get run over by a bus, at least I'm covered is better than nothing... But damn... Even the offerings now, only being able to get in the exchanges once a year, the mandate that puts many like me on the rolls simply because the threat of fines, the $10k deductibles and the otherwise catastrophe insurance now costing a much as regular insurance and regular insurance in the stratosphere... How much you expect people to pay PowerStroker? Already a majority of people are priced right out of the market without subsidies or Union pooling. Even the union guys are starting to feel the pinch as the premiums rise.

I think it really could be a whole lot better PowerStroker, honestly! Don't you think so? My idea of a whole lot better is not dumping millions from their catastrophe plans either. The transition must be good also.

You can't deny that Trump threatening to put members of congress on Obamacare doesn't make you smile just a little bit.

Actually I think members of Congress should share the same fate as a matter of practice in order to incentivize them to do right by their constituents. Putting Congress on Obamacare would be a great start.

I agree there are many things that could be done to improve it. My ideal would be single payer like Medicare for all, where we all just pay higher taxes and everyone is covered. Your party will never agree to that. But a half measure would be if there were a revenue positive Medicare buy in option on the exchange where people who don't qualify for Medicare by age could purchase a policy from them, that way the private insurers have some competition.

Unfortunately your party has some kind of religion against the Government competing in the market with private companies so it's likely that we will all become progressively worse off over time until they either come to their senses on their own, or are forced to.
