Well I recently pulled the trigger on some drilled and slotted brake rotors with ceramic pads... The price wasn't bad and I have had a good deal of success with customers who have been having me install them. Since I am doing the suspension springs front and back on my 420 I figured why not give them a try since I do need new pads and rotors soon anyway.
Anyway, I'll be sure to update this thread with some real good photos pertaining to the brakes, along with my review on the brake kit.

The results of the move to ceramic brakes will be interesting for sure !
There's been lots-of different compounds of brake-pad material in circulation over the last 30-years, once they decided to pull the asbestos out lol...And in my experience, there's been some interesting results too, & not all good, though some have been surprising, where the stopping-power & over-all brake feel has improved even better than OEM stuff....And for 1/3 the cost...
MB has excellent standard brakes IMO, though you can chew through brake-pads quite quick, especially the front. I wonder how these will shape-up ?...
I hope the cars next owner chimes-in to tell us how the brakes are going in a few years time LOL !

I don't think you would get more than a few years out of an inexpensive set of brakes on a car doing the normal 12,000 miles per year... About 30,000 is all you can reasonably expect from what I see before squeaks and possible pulsations start showing up.
One thing is for sure, I won't be letting go of the car for anywhere near what I was asking, if I even sell it at all. Lots of working going into this car! Going to need a stereo upgrade in both the Benz and the Vette. Got a new head unit for both sitting on standby, also got many different amplifiers and woofers too.
I see a lot of Mercedes online for sale, some for pie in the sky money... Others a downright steal (if you collect parts like I do). One thing is for sure, people just can't afford these cars... They simply do not have the means! People seem to think they are going to find a W126 Mercedes under $5,000 with under 80k miles... What they don't realize is that these cars have aged to the point it doesn't even matter... Even a $30k creampuff is going to need $10-$12k worth of maintenance at this point unless you plan on leaving it parked in a garage! I'll probably hang on to this Mercedes and try selling off one of the other SEL's that I have... I might as well keep the best for myself as I did enjoy taking it out on the town the other night! It is a real attention getter, for best or worse I don't know. LOL
For the money, $156, this brake kit is quite inexpensive compared to just regular stuff off the shelf. We will see though!
