U.S. Marshals Investigating Violent Threats Sent to Kavanaugh's Wife

 The U.S. Marshals Service is reportedly investigating threats sent to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaughs wife following allegations that her husband sexually assaulted a woman when he was in high school 35 years ago.

As the left rages on regarding unproven accusations that a then-17-year-old Kavanaugh once tried to rape Christine Blasey Ford at a party when the two were in high school, Kavanaughs wife, Ashley, has reported getting violent threats against her husband and her family, including one that suggested her husband shoot himself to death and another telling her family to "burn in hell." The Wall Street Journal reports:

Separately, Judge Kavanaughs wife, Ashley Estes Kavanaugh, received violent threats this week following the allegations against her husband, a senior Trump administration official said Thursday. The U.S. Marshals Service is investigating the emails.

Mrs. Kavanaugh received two profane notes in her work email account in recent days, the official said. Both notes, which have been reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, were sent from the same email address.

Citing intelligence reports, the official said that Threats, including to his (Judge Kavanaughs) wife, have risen this week.

One note to Mrs. Kavanaugh, a town manager in the Washington, D.C. suburbs read, May you, your husband and your kids burn in hell.

The other, whose subject line reads, Hi, Ashley, said she should tell her husband to put a bullet in his skull.
Ford, the woman whos accused Kavanaugh of assaulting her some 35 years ago, has also reported getting threats since going public last weekend. Sen. Susan Collins, a Maine Republican whos been critical of the 11th-hour accusations, has also received threatening messages.

China Considers Lowering Tariffs As Its Economy Faces Difficulties

President Trump appears to be winning the trade war against China.

Beijing is reportedly looking at lowering import tariffs on global trading partners, which could include the U.S.

This comes after President Trump announced another round of tariffs on Monday, targeting about $200 billion worth of Chinese goods.

A senior fellow at a free-market think tank said Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh shares a major similarity with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and it has nothing to do with sexual misconduct.

Jason Riley of the Manhattan Institute said both Kavanaugh and Thomas were targeted by congressional Democrats for their views on abortion and ended up paying the price by having their names dragged through the mud.

This is all about delaying a vote until we can hold the midterm elections and see if they can win back the Senate and vote down through confirmation, Riley said on Fox & Friends Friday. This is not about finding out the truth. The truth is a secondary concern at best for Democrats.

Christine Blasey Ford accused Kavanaugh of groping her during a party in high school and she claimed he tried to drunkenly remove her clothing by force.

[Anita] Hill was Clarence Thomas sole accuser. To this day no one else has come out with similar allegations, Riley continued. Many parallels abortion was the overriding concern of the hearings before the sexual harassment claims surfaced against Hill. So there are all kinds of parallels here to what was going on back then. And truth, what actually occurred, was a secondary concern.

Riley said Senate Democrats should have discussed this issue in their closed-door meetings with Kavanaugh, instead of ambushing him to score political points for the upcoming midterm elections.

They could have discussed it with Kavanaugh in their private meetings, they could have aired this or they could have done this under oath when he was testifying during the hearings. They didnt do that, he said.

They sat on the information because I believe they were waiting for the best moment to drop it and do the most political damage. I think this was a calculated effort, Riley added.
