Id taken a recent meme and, like so many others, personalized it by replacing my own childs temper tantrum for the normal kids tantrum that someone else used in their meme. The powers-that-be deemed it unacceptable.

How is my child different than all the other children used in this same meme, Mark? Is he not as worthy to be treated as equal to, say, your child?

Hillary Clintons Security Clearance has been Revoked

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton no longer has a security clearance. Five of her former aides also lost theirs, following a scandal over her use of a private email server while running the State Department. 

Clintons security clearance has been withdrawn the Senate Judiciary Committee revealed on Friday, citing a State Department note dated September 21 .

The State Department document states that her clearance was administratively withdrawn on August 30, 2018, as part of the ongoing review of how Clinton and her staff handled classified documents using a private email server during her tenure.

Clearances for five other individuals whom Clinton designated as researchers have also been withdrawn, including close aide Cheryl Mills, the committee said. The State Department letter shows that this happened on September 20. The names of four other aides were redacted without explanation.

This timeline means that Clintons clearance was withdrawn two weeks after the Trump administration announced it would revoke the clearance of former CIA chief John Brennan, citing the risks posed by his erratic conduct and behavior. After resigning from the CIA, Brennan launched a career as a cable news pundit, criticizing Trump at every step and even accusing the president of treason over his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in July.

The White House said it would look into revoking the clearances of several other Obama administration officials, though no further withdrawals have been announced since.

Clinton served as the helm of the State Department from January 2009 to February 2013, when she resigned to launch her 2016 presidential bid. She has not held a government post since. By Washington custom, former officials retain their security clearances in case their successors need advice on sensitive matters, though that practice is being challenged under Trump.

Though she does not have an official role in the DNC, Clinton remains engaged in politics. Most recently, she said that Democrats should forego civility until they win in the November midterms, because Republicans are an ideological party that is driven by the lust for power.

You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about, Clinton told CNNs Christiane Amanpour.

The use of a private email server by Clinton and a number of her aides - including confidant Huma Abedin - was first revealed in 2013, when Romanian hacker Marcel Lazar Lehel (aka Guccifer) leaked a number of messages from clintonemail.com.

By 2015, House Republicans investigating the 2012 Benghazi attacks established that Clinton had almost exclusively used the server run from her Chappaqua, New York home instead of the secure State Department network. Clinton finally admitted the private server use in March 2015, months before Trump launched his presidential bid, but said that the messages did not contain classified information and that she meant no harm.

The FBI investigation did find classified messages among the thousands of emails. In July 2016, FBI Director James Comey publicly announced no charges would be filed in the case. The email scandal continued to dog Clinton to the very end of the campaign, however.

The Environmental Protection Agency is deleting hazardous waste areas, known as Superfund sites, at its fastest rate in well over a decade.

The EPA announced on Wednesday that is has completely or partially erased 22 sites from Superfunds National Priorities List in the 2018  the highest number of deletions in 13 years. The quick pace indicates the Trump administrations priority in cleaning up these hazardous waste areas.

Under President Trump, EPA is deleting Superfund sites from the National Priorities List at the fastest pace in more than a decade, EPA Acting Administrator Andrew Wheeler said in a prepared statement. This remarkable accomplishment is proof that cleaning up contaminated lands and returning them to safe and productive use is a top priority of the Trump EPA.

Superfund sites  areas specifically designated for cleanup by the EPA  can contain a number of hazardous chemicals, such as lead, mercury and arsenic. The National Priorities List serves as an official tally of the countrys most hazardous waste sites. The agency launched the Superfund Task Force in May 2017 to provide recommendations for bettering and accelerating site cleanup operations.

The goal of the Superfund program is to fully clean these sites, helping the environment and allowing local communities to reclaim the land. A site is deleted from the National Priorities List (NPL) when no further cleanup work is needed.

In the 2018 fiscal year, eighteen sites have been completely deleted from the NPL and another four have been partially deleted. These areas stretch all across the country, with restored sites located in Florida, Connecticut, Texas, Washington, Maine, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, West Virginia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Utah and Mississippi.

EPA is making good on its commitment to pick up the pace of Superfund cleanups so the sites can be restored to productive use, EPA Regional Administrator Cathy Stepp stated. Promoting redevelopment is part of EPAs core mission and helps spur the local economy in communities near Superfund sites.

UNSEALED GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS PROVE FEDERAL COVER-UP IN OPERATION CHOKEPOINT

Newly-unsealed court documents released today show evidence of the federal governments illegal Operation Choke Point program in which top government officials and federal agencies pressured banks to cut all ties with lawful businesses. More than 100 records expose depositions and damaging emails of government officials, most notably at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), who executed a secretive campaign against lawful businesses it disfavored while ignoring due process and subverting the legal and regulatory process. This illegal campaign included threats from senior government officials that agency staff would be fired and bank officials could be subject to criminal prosecution. The key findings disclosed in the filing indicate that this campaign was instituted at the very highest levels of the FDIC and has been ruthlessly and enthusiastically implemented in the field:

In late 2010 or early 2011, the FDICs senior Washington officials convened a meeting of all Regional Directors (or their designees) at which a senior FDIC official gave the agencys field officers the following message, direct from the FDICs highest leadership in Washington: if a bank was found to be involved in payday lending, someone was going to be fired. This threat had far-reaching consequences, since the regional directors collectively have supervisory authority over every FDIC-insured bank of United States. 

Atlanta Regional Director Thomas Dujenski informed members of his staff that [a]ny banks even remotely involved in payday [lending] should be promptly brought to my attention, and he repeatedly pressured banks into terminating payday lender customers. In one instance, he met personally with the chairman of a bank that serviced payday lenders, characterized payday lending as a dirty business, and threatened the chairman with potential criminal prosecution if he did not end the relationship. After the bank complied and terminated the account, Dujenski covered the FDICs tracks by seeking to ensure that the bank characterized the decision as its own. He also reported back to Washington: I think we got our message across. During Director Dujenskis tenure every single bank in his region known to have had relationships with a payday lender ultimately ended those relationships.

Similarly, Chicago Regional Director Anthony Lowe pressured numerous banks into cutting ties with the payday lending industry. In a letter to one bank, he expressed the view that it was unacceptable for the bank to continue serving payday lenders. In another instance, he instructed his staff to use all available means, including verbal recommendations, to strongly encourage [supervised banks] to refrain from any activities that provide assistance to the business activities of [payday] lenders. In another letter, Director Lowe explained to a banks board of directors that it was the FDICs view that payday loans are costly, and offer limited utility for consumers, as compared to traditional loan products. Furthermore, the . . . relationship carries a high degree of risk to the institution . . . Consequently, we have generally found that activities related to payday lending are unacceptable for an insured depository institution.

Despite contentions that Operation Choke Point is no longer running, the culture it created persists and some businesses previously targeted are still seeing their banking relationships terminated without cause. Many banks terminated their relationships with payday lenders abruptly with no explanation at all. Others were more forthcoming in personal discussions. Since February 2013, Advance America has received termination notices from at least 21 banks and about 275 banks have refused the companys business because of its status as a payday lender. One bank said it was ending their relationship because of pressure from regulators regarding reputational risk. Another banker said that trying to do business with a payday lender would put the bank in regulatory hell.

These documents reveal a shocking abuse of power and conspiracy to single out an industry and bring it to its knees, something far away from a regulatory agencys requirement to proceed according to the rule of law and due process, said Dennis Shaul, CEO of the Community Financial Services Association of America (CFSA). Despite hearing statements to the contrary from government officials for years, these records prove that there was an intentional and targeted campaign to carry out an illegal policy. If personal preference and subjectivity is the guide for regulation, an awful precedent is set and there is no end to the interests that can be targeted  pro-choice groups, environmental causes, religious groups and many more.

The never-before-seen documents were released as part of the Plaintiffs Motion for Summary Judgment in the lawsuit Advance America et al. v. Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. et al. The documents show that top leadership at the FDIC held strong personal biases and began a ruthless targeted campaign against the small-dollar lending industry. As the evidence recounted above shows, these biases permeated the agency and influenced its supervisory approach.

More than four years ago, Advance America and its industry partners took the extreme and costly step of suing federal regulators for attempting to cut off our access to the U.S. banking system, said Patrick OShaughnessy, President and CEO of Advance America and Chair of the CFSA Board of Directors. We expected to find a concerted effort to pressure banks from doing business with our industry, but discovered the nearly unthinkable. While claiming  publicly, under oath  to be combatting illegal activity, high-ranking government bureaucrats deployed a clandestine crusade to eliminate our regulated and legal service. The campaign revealed that personal bias had motivated scorn for our industry, contempt for our millions of customers, blatant disregard for due process, and an unprecedented weaponization of government.

The plaintiffs in this case are seeking an end to this type of improper regulatory pressurewhich is causing bank terminations to continue to this dayas well as an opportunity to restore the banking relationships that were previously terminated as a result of Operation Choke Point.

Operation Choke Point is an illegal government campaign that employs strong-arm tactics to force banks to end their legal business relationships with smaller, licensed companies that were disfavored by bureaucrats from the previous administration. These industries include local small businesses like fireworks and firearms companies, home-based charities, and small-dollar lenders. In June 2014, CFSA and its largest member companies, Advance America and Check Into Cash, filed a lawsuit against the federal government seeking to end Operation Choke Point and the governments improper regulatory overreach.

The defendants in the lawsuit include the FDIC and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC)  the agencies that, in a coordinated fashion, sought to deprive legal, licensed business of access to banking services.

U.S. District Judge S. James Otero threw out Stormy Daniels' defamation case against President Trump today. Not only did Otero rule that Trump's tweet, accusing Daniels of orchestrating a "total con job," was protected under the First Amendment. Because Otero granted Trump's anti-SLAPP, or strategic lawsuits against public participation, motion, Daniels may also now have to pay for the president's attorney fees.
 
In short, Daniels was out-lawyered, and Avenatti is to blame.
Avenatti, who's represented Daniels in the courtroom and in near-daily CNN spots for most of 2018, responded on Twitter with the same heated drivel and demagoguery he's used to con his way to political ubiquity.
 
"Daniels' other claims against Trump and Cohen proceed unaffected," wrote Avenatti. "Trump's contrary claims are as deceptive as his claims about the inauguration attendance. We will appeal the dismissal of the defamation cause of action and are confident in a reversal."
 
From a legal perspective that last point is especially laughable. Trump's lawyer, Charles Harder, successfully argued that Trump's tweet in question addressed a public person and a matter of public interest, so Avenatti would have to establish that Trump made a defamatory " statement of fact," not nonactionable opinion.
 
In other words, the odds are nil to none that any reasonable court could reverse the order.
 
Avenatti failed, and Stormy was his victim.

During his first week on the job, the Supreme Courts newest Justice, Brett Kavanaugh, quietly took some time out of his schedule Wednesday to feed the homeless with a volunteer group on Wednesday.

Kavanaugh, who has a history of volunteer work with the Catholic Charities group, made his first appearance on the Supreme Court Tuesday, only to hit the streets to help DCs homeless the following day.

After an arduous confirmation process, Kavanaugh, who was nominated by President Trump in July to replace the retired Justice Anthony Kennedy, was confirmed to the nations highest court last Saturday in a 50-48 vote.
