Targets?

Targets are always something you are either buying, making, or saving something you cant recycle Just to see how much abuse it can take.

So, lately, I am 3D printing some ideas. Starting with reactionary geometry, I was planning to create a bunch of cheap/easy 3D targets. I am looking to make them soft enough that they self-heal, but strong enough that they will bounce and move when hit.

i will offer the files freely, to anyone who wants to print their own, and will print a set (for a minimal materials/shipping fee) for anyone else.

i made this thread to share targets, ideas and anything else to make our marksmanship practice more fun and interesting. If you come up with an idea that we like and want to make, you will be credited with the design, and I will send you some of the first run while we beta-test it. (That means shoot the hell outta it)

When I have too many chicken eggs, can't even give them away. AWESOME. Blow the yolks up in the air 10 feet at 100 yards with a 22. 223? Vaporize the suckers.

Interesting to see what you come up with.

I like the eggs idea, when theyve been in the fridge so long I forgot when I bought them. More .22 fun.

on the low tech side, I use the 20lb. cat sand jugs to hold spare water in the garden, next to the fire pit. When theyve been there a year, I take them to the range filled. The hold up well, are easy to tape pay Er targets to, and when florist hit with something bigger, react really well.

I also drink a lot of Lipton Pure Leaf Iced Tea , they come in a weird square-ish bottle, which also make great targets when refilled with water.

Oh yeah. Cans, plastic bottles of water are awesome. Had a custom 7x61 sharp and hart (very sim to a 7 mag) Within 400 yards anything was gone. They nicknamed my rifle the "vaporizer"

My latest favorite is the 20lb plastic jug that Tidy Cats catsand comes in, I fill it with water or gravel and tape paper targets to it.
