So I finished watching about as much of the Keynote as possible and I have to admit, I was not really too impressed... Sure, Tim Cook parading around in a pair of Nikes and what looks like Levis jeans wasnt my idea of the greatest of starts, but it took me a minute to make out the white swoosh logo on his white shoes. But then it just seemed to get worse, and perhaps like every year that an S model is released its not quite as much of a spectacle as the previous year - at least for me anyway. Anymore Apple Keynotes seem like a McDonalds commercial as it almost seemed like they were rotating out their diversified racial profile with each new speaker. Its fair, but it gets old... They should just find someone who is well spoken and has a lot of energy because honestly as a customer I am expecting way more than they can deliver on a daily basis so why not at least give me the satisfaction of a flawless performance before asking me to buy something expensive.
It would also appear that Nike is wrapped up with Apple in their special Nike watches - so that could explain why Cook may have had no other choice but to wear Nikes on stage? Either way this fitness and wellness stuff is really being utilized by Apple! Still there is no Apple watch that can read blood sugar - so really its not that impressive yet... but they did include fall detection into their newest Apple Watch 4 which was pitched in a way that you were almost hanging off the edge of your chair wondering if they would reference or show a clip of the famous Ive fallen and I cant get up commercial, lol. Still I find the efforts in this health and wellness area to be a good move and while I dont feel the performance is quite up to par yet - I still appreciate the fact they hauled the top brass of the American Heart Association on stage to reveal that he can barely speak english as you flat out watch him read dictation on the teleprompter. Makes you wonder... They did get FDA approval and now you can get an EKG of your heart rate without going to the Drs... or so they claim.
The new offerings of iPhones isnt anything outside of what you would expect from an S upgrade, in that the phones look just like last year but with new colors, faster speeds and more storage space! Up to 512 Gigs on the top end $1500 model... Yes thats right folks, the flagship in top form is $1,500! They also offer the XR which starts out at about $750.
For me there really is no reason to upgrade, outside of the new gold color they are offering... but for me that might not prove to be enough to bother with upgrading even a single unit. We all remember what happened the last time I set out to run all my computer needs on an iPhone! What happened you might ask? I had to join DH because the darn phone just could not measure up to Apples Powerful enough to be your desktop theme at the time. I have since gotten a Mac and I find my system has a very hard time accessing large photo files and really has an odd way of doing everything. Yet here I am, on my Mac with my iPhone next to me... Guess you could say Im not happy unless Im bitching.
