First hydrogen train

And for some good news. From "good news network"  Rastus has a couple good sites, "faithwire" And collective evolution. We don't always have to discuss politics. This hydrogen train is interesting. We all need to come together on more green solutions.

The worlds first ever hydrogen-powered train has just been launched for commercial use in Germany, signaling yet another victory in the shift towards sustainability.

The Coradia iLint passenger train, which was developed by rail transport company Alstom, can travel 600 miles (1,000km) on a single tank of hydrogen. Using special fuel cells, the trains generate energy through a combination of hydrogen and oxygen, with excess energy stored in lithium ion batteries.

Though they have the same range as diesel-powered trains, they produce no greenhouse gas emissions and they are cheaper to run than their fossil fuel counterparts.

This zero-emission train emits low levels of noise, with exhaust being only steam and condensed water, says Alstom. The iLint is special for its combination of different innovative elements: clean energy conversion, flexible energy storage in batteries, and smart management of traction power and available energy.

Specifically designed for operation on non-electrified lines, it enables clean, sustainable train operation while ensuring high levels of performance.

Two of the Coradia iLint trains will be managing a 62-mile stretch of railway in Lower Saxony, Germany. With several more provinces expressing interest in the eco-friendly transit, Alstom says that they expect to launch 14 more of the zero-emission trains within the next few years.

I'm truly glad to hear your desire to implement environmentally sustainable solutions. I really am, I just wish there were more like you in your party, but unfortunately your enthusiasm is not shared by the overwhelming majority of your political allies, some of which are even hostile to the environment... Like the previous AND current EPA director. I think there was also someone who pulled us out of the Paris agreement, not sure who that was though.

America should be leading the way in these initiatives. Instead of living for today, we should live for the future.

Amen !

Cool post Shawnee, thanks for sharing...With a little luck, this may catch-on world-wide...

We're always going to need oil to lube things & other stuff, so the industry won't necessarily fade away, but at least the planet & everything within it will benefit by not burning the stuff !

Im hoping this uses Browns gas, created on-the-fly. Something similar to Stanley Meyers work.

I agree man, we got to get green big time. So many options now, no reason not to.

Rest of the party? I dunno. Just like both sides the dollar bribes kill it.

Look at all the great inventions, 50MPG in the 50's, patent DENIED in the interest of national security. Say what?

Not sure what it is. They mention hydrogen/water derivitive makes me think standard hydrogen production but not enough out on the story yet.

You all set in the new digs???

It is a form of electrolysis that separates hydrogen and oxygen from water. The exhaust is water vapor.

Search Stanley Meyer water fuel. There is a huge community trying to duplicate his efforts.

Not quite ready yet. Well is fixed and flowing in a new pump house, septic has been tested and awaiting repair approval. My to-do list is huge! Lol
