You see! This is what happens when non-born citizens get into politics in the United States of America!

This woman could have just as easily went back to Somalia and ran for office but instead she is now trying to change a rule that has been in effect for 181 years!

If this woman was allowed to wear her head scarf on the house floor it would be unfair to anyone else who wanted to wear a ball cap, or stetson! Same goes for decretive women hats and such!

The rules are quite clear! NO COVERING OF THE HEAD ON THE HOUSE FLOOR!

Giving anyone a pass on this rule on religious grounds would be a violation of the separation of church and state as special concessions above and beyond the traditional decorum on the house floor is not being equally enforced!

Making a big deal out of this means this person is putting their religious beliefs before that of her duty to appear and conform to the decorum of the office! There are rules in place to prevent people from wearing hats, and a head scarf is in essence a part of that category!

What does everyone else think? I think she is unfit for service on conflicting religious grounds!

This is an example of shit that just doesn't matter. I'm not one for people wearing their religion in a secular place, but the banning of headwear completely seems a little dumb because there may well be a member of Congress for example undergoing chemotherapy and is unhappy with their appearance due to hair loss. I'm thinking the banning of headwear is an example of too much government regulation - you guys with me?

As far as the rule? Leave it in place. Been there almost 2 centuries. Anyone with chemo hair or something can go for a "variance" and get cleared to wear whatever. I spose :)

Always going to be a problem when religious laws conflict with a countries local laws...

The Muslims essentially do what they do to their women ( eg the clitoris surgery & full-face coverage ) so as to not become the initiators in sexual conduct.

Also, when moving-in to a new country, no-one wants to spent any time with you, simply because they're too busy with their own lives, & chances are the immigrant won't speak English too well. So there are distances here...

Things are slow to change, but the bottom line until change perhaps comes is "Put-up, or move-out".

I migrant once they've established themselves as a citizen, have also sworn to uphold the laws of the country, & there-fore are accountable for their actions once these laws are broken.

IMO, Muslims should be kissing local people's asses for their new found freedoms & liberties, not the other way around.

All things considered, most Muslims I've met seem OK people.

I do not feel anyone should be kissing anyones ass, unless they are working an angle that is advantageous to their plight.

I probably deal with more Muslim, Hindu and other religions than anyone in here on literally a daily basis due to my close proximity to Dearborn and Canton. In my work it really does not matter what the race or religion of the customer because what they bring me is a machine that needs repair. I do not think I have met a Muslim or Hindu, or anyone else for that matter who is as cheap as I am, but I guess that is just a personal opinion. lol

Perhaps some consider talk about cutting off the female clit to be taboo, but I am stuck reading the headlines and articles the media pumps out so there is nothing taboo about this subject. I am shocked that PowerStroker hasnt shown up to mention that circumcision is a form of genital mutilation that is acceptable in this country, but such a procedure is more a sanitary one than anything. It is also done at birth, as to limit the pain and or mental trauma. From what I understand of the female genital mutilation is that its done purely to remove any pleasure from the act of procreating, plus it is done at a time when the kid is older, as to also inflict a form of lasting mental torture. Just does not seem American to me...

I do not feel discussing these issues in any way insults anyones religion, and America is the most tolerant of ALL nations when it comes to religion - but to a point.

So in other words, take your head gear off on the house floor and quit cutting off little girls clits! Is that too much to ask?
