1. Had a check engine light. Think that was normal for that truck as well as my f350 since cat con removed. Any other time it's coil pac's. Anyway, 2 days ago the light went away! Have never seen one go away without a reset or discon - cable from batt. Bulb is OK it lights when starting. Ever see a check engine light go away itself???
2. Not always but certain times parameters. If I am going down a slight incline to a stop, coasting and very light on brake when the truck downshifts to first a clunk, sounds left rear. Trans odd anyway but this is new and getting louder. Toyota plumbed radiator and trans together years ago, fixed but never right. Shifts kinda hard up shifting, hard and fast. I just take it easy.
3. Back when I had the misfiring (yea a thread) Mechanic found #7 injector had a taped splice came apart. 2 wires attached to the one injector pac
a. why taped? Toyota (yea same dumb shits, Mass holes) put in an auto start, alarm etc and seems they cut the #7 wire and made the splice. Anyway, mechanic deleted the extra wire didn't run the injector with no thought as to why it was there.
b. Now the auto start does not work. It will auto start but not stay running. Signal from running injector coil pac tell unit OK? I dunno.

R2. Suspension rubbers & mounts wear-out eventually, & they often only give-noises in rare circumstances, like de-accelerating in 1st gear, the reason being the torque-reaction through the diff & axel's is opposite to that of accelerating, so the torque-reaction causes things to move around where they can...Using a 4-post drive-on hoist will let someone shift from 1st to reverse repeatedly while someone below listens & looks for that knock...
R3. You've likely answered your own query Shawnee with your post. See what Toyota have to say...
Just because the engine light has cleared itself, doesn't mean that the fault isn't stored in memory...As you know, $50:00 for computer to talk to computer for a scan may just get you started to the permanent fix. I'd guess that if you want the auto-start, that wire to No.7 injector would need to be refitted.

Yup it will probably come back, easy check my mechanics just come right out and do it when you show up.
Yes tranny mount or something had to be changed a while back. They have a drive on lift there but another shop may have a lift that can be done. Meanwhile it dries out here I'll get under it and look.
Don't go to Toyota, that was the wife when she was in Massachusetts. Shitty dealer. I can ask the mechanic that cut it off, if he remembers! Yes she likes the auto start, hopw the wire is still there.
