Tesla Cybertruck

cybertruck-7.jpg

It has arrived! And I must admit that upon first sight I was somewhat put off by the looks however now after just a day or so the look has already started to grow on me.

Some of the specs seem to be pretty impressive,

https://www.tesla.com/cybertruck

Given it's looks, if Tesla was out to design a truck of the future - they knocked it out of the part with this because it's not like anything I ever seen and it screams of futuristic Jetsons meets Mad Max...

I don't know about the rims though, how they hang over the tires in little square slots - I think in the mud this would only prove to damage the rim more and expose it to scratches but who knows... Obviously the tire would have to be mounted and dismounted from the rear on a rim like that, but who knows it may be a two or three piece rim for all we know. The body is stainless steel, which makes it look like the time traveling DMC in the movie "Back to the Future", and the skinny front LED light bar is pretty cool looking.

Not so sure about the triangle design.

What does everyone else think?

Glass disaster: Tesla Cybertruck's 'Armor Glass' breaks during demo

https://www.foxnews.com/auto/massive-armor-glass-fail-tesla-cybertruck

Guess the armored glass isn't quite up to snuff, but the article above suggest that 9mm shots from a gun did not penetrate the stainless steel body.

Mehh...

It's not that I don't particularly like it,-( too many straight lines & sharp edges ), but it's not what I call a "truck", there's too much SUV, & they're in no-where-land IMO, where they do nothing particularly well, but occupy more road space, block other drivers vision, & generally cost more to run, electric or other lol.

Fair enough Rastus, I too feel that pointy edge on the front window will become leak prone in time - be it wind, water or both.

Also hate to see the replacement cost for that front windshield!

I was more or less saying it doesn't look like anything on the road today, and at least the Pontiac Aztek will no longer be known as the ugliest SUV/Truck on the planet! LOL

True !

No doubt the pictures are the "prototype" version. His "Car" is pretty-easy one-the-eye, so no doubt they'll do the same here.

Whoops..I didn't click-on-the-link, I only looked at the snapshot...I thought prototype as there's no headlights or the funny US-of-A bumper fitted.

Also doesn't appear to be any side view mirrors either! It looks to have one heck of a blind spot too! But that didn't stop them from taking in 200,000 orders already!

They claim the stainless body can withstand a shot fired from a 9mm round as well!

But they also claimed the glass was armored too until it broke during the live debut during a demonstration! LOL, talk about embarrassing!

LOL !

If the body isn't mounted on a full-chassis, then the windscreen "is" likely a stressed-member...Not a good sign if they haven't sorted this out LOL !

Notice that they have not dare to toss this thing around in the mud yet!

That there is VERY telling!

Especially in the world of 4X4's
