Pelosi still needs to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate acc'd to the Constitution. Don't know if there is a timeline.

Yes there were people within the party, like Congresswoman Talib, who wanted impeachment long before the crimes for which he was actually impeached ever happened. HOWEVER, there is also a record of acts by President Trump going back even before his election that a reasonable person would say qualify as impeachable. I mean, if Clinton was impeached for lying about a blow job, come on. Talib, merely made up her mind earlier than the leadership of her party that he is unfit for the office he holds. But she came to her conclusion based on President Trumps behavior, not his politics.

Your side has been pushing the Russian narrative since the day you lost, then you wasted years and probably billions of tax payer dollars investigating only to come up empty handed! Clinton lied about getting head from a White House intern inside the oval office, while President and also while he was married. That is a little different than "just a blow job". Trump's behavior prior to running for office is irrelevant because people knew all this and still elected him. It will be interesting to see if the 13th district kicks Tlaib to the curb! If they don't well that just means that district is anti-American and might be a threat to national security.

Only after the more recent and extremely egregious offence of trying to use the power of his office to coerce a foreign government in to interfering in a US election in a manner that benefits President Trump personally, that the Democratic leadership really no longer had any choice in the matter. As a matter of conscience, they had no choice but to uphold their oath of office to defend the Constitution against all threats both foreign and domestic.

PowerStroker, wake up kiddo! Had your party done the right thing and kept Biden on a leash to begin with Trump wouldn't have had to investigate Biden or his Son... The fact Biden is running for President makes it even MORE important that voters know what kind of malarky he is infamous for. The idea we should all feel bad for the Bidens because they spent a lifetime selling influence for kickbacks is laughable! The curtain has been pulled back and no one trust Biden, just like they didn't trust Hillary! Your party is not defending the constitution, they are breaking the law. And if you will watch the coverage of the impeachment vote closely, you will see that not only did Nancy not whip the vote, but she didn't even make a speech prior to the vote. And once it passed, and some (like Talib) started to cheer, Nancy quickly silenced them as if to say there is nothing to cheer about here.

I want President Trump to receive a fair trial like anyone else is entitled to. The notion that Republican leadership in their role as impartial jury would conspire with the president's lawyers on how to rig their kangaroo court, now that is yet another in a long line of egregious crimes against our democracy.

Sorry PowerStroker, but I smell a checkmate coming very soon! They better make an example of these people or we will spend every Presidency from now until the end of time just impeaching any new President the minority at the time does not like. Most Americans see this for what it is, an unprecedented attempt by the Democrats to remove a duly elected President for nothing more than the fact they don't like him!
