All I can say is that no-one alive today had anything to do with slavery and the idea that paying African Americans will somehow make everything better is a laughable JOKE!

What he has to say is fair enough from what I can gather from the article. It's reasonably to-the-point, but I think asking for all-that-money lowers the cause, simply because the cause is now about money...
I would have considered "some" compensation & formal acknowledgement of apology from "the people & gov't" be awarded, but let's also be reminded that it's based on a system that existed many years ago..And times have changed..And generally speaking, conditions for "everyone" have improved over the years. And these people are now US-of-A citizens, which places y'all high on the ladder of the world's "leading" countries.
This guys talikin' jive imo, & is really only degrading what is a genuine issue that needs addressing.

I'd be willing to say he has some blame for the current lending standards and credit reporting regulations that unfairly discriminate against small business people (read that as ALL small business people), and especially Ben Carson for his allowing the HUD to use a discriminatory formula for small businesses... but to blame him for the bills himself? The sad part is that even if given $350,000 over the course of 30 years many of them would just seek out ways to collect it early thru payday advances or companies like JG Wentworth! And even if they were all given $350k many would go out and buy their Dodge cars and other stuff they cannot afford like $100k gold chains and $20k outfits and then they would come back with their hands out looking for more saying it wasnt enough, or just enough to get them in trouble. I am sure some of them might make something out of it, but most would end up the same way many lotto winners do, broke and in even more trouble.
Even debating this rediculously racist proposal is laughable! There isnt a slave owner alive today! And to be quite honest, many blacks were sold by their own people/family! So they should seek reperations from their ancestors in Africa! Maybe they can squeeze some money out of Nelson Mandella's estate? Or even the African government, depending on their tribe, territory or country?
All I know is it's not something that anyone outside blacks would support, for obvious reasons.
