There was a dude on BW.ORG who said that every Mercedes-Benz that left the factory that wasn't painted black, was destined to be painted black to make it worth anything...
I clicked open the link, & someone was prepared to pay close to asking price...
By default, a 300-kmph speedo does not mean that the car will go that fast..In fact, the red-line is the same for any other large MB V-8 of that era.
Regardless of the wheels used, should the overall diameter be the same as std wheels, you're top-speed will be the same as any other 560 SEL, on the basis that the std engine will see 6,000 rpm in top-gear.
It is a nice car, but you could build one-up for 1/10 the price, & be only a little behind in a street drag-race imo...Plus it could look the same too, if that's your thang...But I think an SEC is far more appealing.
And as far as HP-numbers go, AMG extractors ( or even Euro logs ) combined with a free flowing dual exhaust system will lift HP numbers substantially. And combined with say a 2.6 ratio LSD diff, you will see a guaranteed 150-mph + @ 6,000 rpm imo. And with that ability, a possible 300-hp package when the the numbers are crunched with my "real world formula", if you can get below 15-seconds in the 1/4-mile. ( I think however that a 3.07 diff will help lift the HP numbers, but with a loss of top-speed, maybe down to 125-130 mph ).
But we don't have a car to test or the numbers to punch in lol !
* ( From memory, you get around 40-kmph on the speedo for every 1,000 rpm, with a 1 : 1 ratio top-gear, & a 2.6 : 1 ratio diff...This means you need 7,500-rpm to see 300-kmph ).
