The best defense against a defamation charge is for defamatory comments to be true. However, Giuliani did not have the truth on his side... On much of anything in recent years.
Perhaps people will be less likely to believe his conspiracy theories, and those of others in the future? If not, at least people will realize a financial disincentive to lying.

If we go after every attorney who is long in the tooth in their arguments while defending a client -- I think most all attorneys would be locked up by now.
I'd like a lot of liars in the Democrat party to be subject to this financial disincentive to lying -- but sadly you only wish to apply this to Republicans.
