Yes, I doubt you would be a fan of anyone they put in there... and I can only imagine they got Democrats to go along with it because it makes Republicans look bad in the short term.

But the implications to me suggest they plan on shutting this mo-fo down in 45 days... is that the writing you're seeing on the wall over there too?

In fact, it's being floated that they may try and make Trump the new speaker of the House!

Well, the House rules for this term, as agreed to by McCarthy state that a single member can call for a vote to remove the speaker. I doubt Trump would like to be in such a position where it only takes a handful of Republicans to join all Dems to kick him out. But he does a lot of strange things so I just don't know. He would certainly be absent frequently as he deals with his multiple trials, so probably not the best choice.

Do you guys have any moderates over there who would be willing to work with Democrats and compromise on, you know, actually governing?

The rule for a single person removing a speaker had certain stipulations/limitations, he was removed by a house vote. 216-210 I believe.
Not doing the things he promised to do. I had issues with him because of his past. Don't care one way or another if he is gone.

I never really heard of the guy until he went 15 times trying to become speaker of the house... clearly he had some sort of pull to be able to do that 15 times! How did he pull that off?

What in his past prior to that bothered you? Guy seemed like a constitution thumper while trying to get the speakership... you know, 15 times is a lot!

He didn't have a great past, got better with time. More a rino. Not saying I don't like him though. I like Jordan. Speaker? I dunno, we'll see.
