Well, depending on the year, it probably has all lighting controlled by the Body Control Module, which is a computer behind the dash that controls lots of different things. Whether the BCM has failed, or whether it is getting a false input from a shorted switch or wiring, or receiving bad data from a different computer over one of the networks is something that is best diagnosed by a dealership. Dealerships are more expensive, and it's not that they "screw" people, its that they have much higher overhead from having purchased millions of dollars in manufacturer specific tooling, and, as a result, are often the only place that can fix certain problems.
Thanks Darlin
Sometimes it wont unlock and the driver seat moves when I sit in it. Its a 2014 fully loaded so it seems everything is falling apart. Do any of you have an Elon Battlestar Galactic? I see a couple people in the neighborhood drive those. Pretty wonky looking. Guess Ill be going to the dealership tomorrow.
Oh and power stroker..love your pic there! You do have to admit Big Daddys children admire the heck out of him. I truly believe he loves his country and doing a damn good job. Im sure most of us have had sordid experiences at some points in our lives. That guy is a machine!

Power locks on that car are also controlled by the BCM. Memory seat functions are not, but the BCM provides power to and communicates with the modules that do control seat movement.
The most common cause we see for BCM failure is water intrusion- usually from a leaking windshield, or, in rare cases, washer fluid being forced through the wiring into the car from an internally leaking washer fluid pump, but that is far more common in the Focus, I haven't seen that yet in a Fusion.
In the event you need a new BCM, you will need to bring all the vehicle keys to the dealer... Transponder key data is stored in the BCM, and installing a new unit requires at least 2 keys to be programmed to the vehicle, otherwise the process won't complete and the vehicle won't start. Any keys omitted from this process won't work anymore, so bring all keys you own with you just incase it needs a BCM.
