I am a patent examiner for new inventions in the internal combustion arts, mostly fuel injection, exhaust gas emission systems, and starting systems. I have a Masters from Texas A&M. Just bought a old 280CE as a project slash hobby car got 2005 ford Escape and a 1980 chevy C10 truck. Mostly drive my old pickup truck for now. I look at my 1978 280 ce euro with custom rusted panels and clogged fuel system and wonderful patina paint job. I sometimes sit in it and go vroom vroom.

thats funny.....
so how is she doin now that its been a few months? u get her running at all?
I got her running been driving her for about two weeks now. She runs great has lots of getup and go. Problem is with all the rust I keep leaving parts of her all over the place. The rear driver's seat area and rear passenger foot area is realy rusted and the seat is poking through. The hole section is in need of replacement. Trying to locate a floor pan to fix that up with. Right now I just ran a metal pipe from front to back to support the seat . Still wide open though so I get a lot of heat in the drivers seat while driving. Also the roof leaks like a crazy when it rains and the sunroof will not retract so I can fix the seals.
I already had my first roadside repair. While on highway my New alterator belt (autozone crap) snaped. Luckly I had a spare (left by PO under spare tire) and tools. took about 15 minutes to RR all three belts. You got to love these old cars for there ease in repair.
Running vintage plates so I don't need inspection or emissions.
