I read that the new LS1 engine has connecting rod bolts rather than studs. I also hear that due to this fact you can upgrade your bolts and forego having the rods re-bored. Is this true?
Unlike the old connecting rods that used pressed "Studs", the new LS1 rods use bolts and dowls.
It makes upgrading to ARP hardward on the connecting rod bolts as simple as swapping them out!
