AT&T Overbilling customers? Use AT&T? Please take this poll.

I am almost a seven year customer of AT&T, well I should say back then it was Cingular, then changed to lower case at&t, but whatever, this should be a sign that they are slimy bastards, its just business right?

RIGHT... So that gets me right to the point. AT&T seems to over bill me at least 8 months out of a year. Each time I have to call in and argue for several hours about it. For almost 7 years they have corrected the problems. Most recently I got out ALL my bills going back almost 6 years. Its amazing how much money these bastards get from us!

I noticed in my most recent overbilling that my cell phone bill was $100 more than my truck payment! I was smoking pissed! I called in immediatly to dispute the overbilling only to be told it would wash in the next bill. I said fine, thats when you will get paid. Next month is was $100 higher than the agreed plan, and I have over 2000 roll over minutes, so there wasnt any overage. Anyway call in and bitch, yet get the same exact BS. So finally my third bill comes in, $15 fricking dollars less than the plan amount. Im thinking to myself $15 for over $322 worth of overcharges is my wash? LOL RIIIIGHHHHT..

Anyway after a long time, and when I say a long time I mean almost 10 hours of air head robot representatives whom are all notating that Im a total asshole, and not to give anymore credit to me (SLANDER!) they finally say oooops here is $200 back. I paused and said "Ok what about the other $133?" at that point I guess I must have been an asshole because the guy felt like I wasnt grateful for his generosity, however WTF, Im the one being generous to the tune of $133! Now normally in the past 6 years I would just call in a million more times until it got fixed. In my old age Im fucking tired of doing all that. They are extorting me to pay these overcharges with the threat of suspension to my service. I can assure you their bill is covered 10X over at any given moment, but its the point! How much more of this can I take?

I eventually just closed the account and the company will incure large early termination fee's as a result. I am wrighting a letter to AT&T about how things have been going the past six years, and I wonder if anyone else whom does business with AT&T has noticed overbillings that have resulted in excessive action to correct?

Yeah, Overbilling is a disturbing trend.

It's like this one time, at band camp, I heard about a guy named Rex who screwd a customer out of his truck because he couldn't afford the $12,000.00 repair on his ICP sensor that a dealer would have done for less than $400.00

And then he got his flute stuck somewhere

Yeah a $12,000+ hit will mess up someones year. Really it was more than that because of the loan we had to take out in order to keep afloat.

I think you need to take that IPCS , along with the converter, injection system, my blown out tire, starter, batteries, lube it up with the near 20 quarts of oil we put in it, then shove the turbo-up pipe you know where.

I am talking about OVERBILLING not authorized repair cost. Powerstroke can go take a flying #uck at a rolling donut.

I wanted to give an update on this situation.

Apparently after being screwed around by AT&T customer service representatives for over 3 months, my letters to the executive departmental heads was not overlooked.

While I have yet to receive my first bill since settling these over billing disputes, I was contacted by a specialist whom basically agreed to "Fix" everything.

Sure at the time I could have told them to shove it up their asses, but since they were willing to acknowledge my concerns, and then act in a manor that would suggest they did make errors, ultimately got me back on board with AT&T.

Mind you I went over 3 months with no internet or cell phones whatsoever. I might add that life was a little different. Mainly in the pocket book where I wasnt spending any money on telecommunications and spending more time thinking of ways to avoid having to pay. I was still able to use friends and relatives internet in my visits, and yes the first week was a little rough, but in the end I could honestly say that I could live a life without internet or telephones without going crazy.

The fact that I have yet to see a bill roll in here since we negotiated an agreement leaves me hesitant to send an e-mail to the executives that helped make it all happen. Seems that every time you thank someone, they screw up right afterwards. Maybe thats just me, but I will keep you posted.
