Health bill would leave millions uninsured!

"Even as Democrats seek the biggest expansion of health coverage2_bing.gif in decades, as many as 23 million people could still be without insurance by 2018, illustrating the complexity of achieving the long-held Democratic goal of universal health care."

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34664303/ns/politics-washington_post/

So PowerStroker!? What of this? Does not seem like this is a worthwile expence if its not going to cover ALL Americans. Sounds like this healthcare plan is just another plan to suck money out of the system and screw up another great American company!

Total bullshit! I did not miss reading about this stuff over the holiday weekend!

Respectfully Rex, I believe health care is something where we all need to have skin in the game otherwise the system will be too expensive for most people. Certainly I would prefer single payer universal coverage for all citizens from the government, but that is probably just another one of my Liberal pipe dreams that will never come true.

So PowerStroker, tell me where all this tobacco tax money is going?

I would like to know just how you sleep at night knowing you will go down as the person whom supported a "Bill" that made every American PAY A BILL or FINE just for being American.

Obama needs to find a new way to fund his plans, without making every head a price tag. This is only the start. What you support is not only wrong, it violates our rights as Americans, and when the time comes that the masses realize it, I hope they remember all the idiots whom pushed it.

You are just being an idiot about it. Yes a plan covering every American for health care is a good idea, but it looses its luster when greedy ass self serving democrats want money for doing NOTHING. All this bullshit is sure to be a waste of time and the public will hate Obama for it. Its the main reason its not going to be implememented until after re-election time. Obama plans on trying to get re-elected under the "I gave you healthcare" when in reality he didnt GIVE us anything but a new monthly bill that is manditory that will likley exceed the amount you could puchase coverage today.

As a non smoker I don't pay a tobacco tax.

18 million uninsured is better than 50 million.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office scores the bill as deficit reducing by 130 billion in the first 10 years, and close to a TRILLION in savings in the next ten years.  Thats a Trillion less in taxes we will need to pay.

It all works out Rex, just let the folks who went to college figure it all out for you mkay.

I know a lot of people that went to college and I am quite sure I dont want them figuring things out for me. Usually most kids going to college are spoild bratts that are used to a life of someone paying their way. The ones that do it on their own end up flipping bugers at the hamburger stand.

Obama didnt have a pot to piss in and there was NO WAY he could have gone to school on his own dime. Instead he went to school on scholarships from Jakarta Indonesia (One of the reasons some people think he denounced his citizenship to qualify). Then when he came back here he soaked the good old US for some more money. Now he is back at it again. Wonder what his next gig will be once he is out of the White House? I am pretty sure Obama's lady got a lot of hand outs from the American people for her schooling as well, and just like many college kids she can be seen on a new TV series flipping bugers in some kitchen cook off special.

Yeah these people are good at doing one thing, looking out for themself. Fuck everyone else, its just ME ME ME with these kinds of people. Face it PowerStroker, your just a mechanic. A file Democrat if you will. You would rather eat shit than admit you are wrong.

No No Rex sigh... The bush pedigree thing is in another thread.

Any proof of this Rex? I was under the impression that his mom and grandmother busted their ass to send him to school, and he got some academic scholarships because he was smart enough to earn them.

Yeah these people are good at doing one thing, looking out for themself. Fuck everyone else, its just ME ME ME with these kinds of people. Face it PowerStroker, your just a mechanic. A file Democrat if you will. You would rather eat shit than admit you are wrong.

When I'm wrong I will admit it.  I actually thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

That ME ME ME thing... Is that like how the Dems want everyone to have health care? or how the Dems want to keep education affordable?  Or how the Dems want to invest in the infrastructure like roads and bridges that we all enjoy? Or how the Dems are willing to raise taxes today for the things we buy today so that our children wont be as burdened? Or how the Dems brought us Social Security so our seniors and disabled citizens wouldn't freeze and starve to death?  Or how the Dems brought us Medicare so our seniors would have medical care? And on and on.

It was the Republicans that abolished slavery.

I think its enough said, however I would like to address your statements about the roads and bridges. Here in Michigan its a Democrat state, and I can tell you the roads SUCK ASS. Perhaps you should visit Michigan before you make another silly statement like "The Democrats build and fix roads" because its the tax payers that are building and fixing them roads, not the Democrats. Even then they are falling short. If anything it's the Red states that have the nicest roads.

Also with regards to your bullshit about the Democrats raising taxes today to save out kids from high taxes later.... Thats total bullshit! The democrats are about to straddle them with a hefty bill each month the moment they turn 18, in addition to all the taxes we already have now, add in these NEW TAXES you speak of, and what you say is pure bullshit. How can you even say that PowerStroker? What is wrong with you boy?

Your statement about the Democrats bringing us social security, well all I can say is look at it today! Isnt it about to go bust? I get my SS statement each year and one year it flat out said the fund would be empty within 10 years. Dont see much future in Social Security for my kids. Once again another epic fail for the Democrats.

Getting back on topic about millions of people still being un-insured its important to take into consideration that Obamas plan is not giving anyone insurance.. It is only requiring that YOU BUY INSURANCE. What will be different about people not having insurance outside of the extra revenue in fines? They still wont have insurance!  If they cant afford insurance and have to pay the fine yet end up in the hospital the very next day with a serious condition it will still bankrupt them and destroy their life for 7 years or longer.

There are other ways to fund this program to actually GIVE insurance coverage to all rather than just OFFER it. It dont matter what side of the isle you sit on, a new MANDITORY bill with a fine is not something people WANT OR NEED. It's not something they want passed on to their kids. It has NO VALUE! Obama is not giving out insurance! He is just mandating it! Thats a very profound idea that big government can start handing out bills for not buying services just because you are an American citizen. It begs the question of "Where will it end?"

People whom may not be able to even afford the most basic of plans will now have a fine to deal with. The fine will come off their income taxes, yet they will still have no health insurance. What about these people PowerStroker?

I dont want to see people that cant afford even the basic coverage being fined some $900 for not buying it. The fine wont change the fact that they still WONT have insurance, and as we all know $900 wont cover a 1 hr emergency room visit. Then there is the problem that some people simply wont be able to pay the fine. All the oversight will just be a big mess. People whom might have switched jobs and are waiting to get their 60 days in for insurance would likely have to pay a fine for the lapse in coverage and thats just sick considering that now days people may not have control over loosing their jobs with the poor economy.

Why cant anyone see this is not a great idea! Obama is NOT giving us healthcare. If you cant afford healthcare now, you most likely wont be able to when its mandatory. You will be fined, but that will not give you insurance coverage. When insurance companies can no longer eliminate high risk people the amount of the premium WILL INCREASE for the people whom have it. There is NO WAY AROUND IT.

The New Healthcare Bill

The new healthcare bill will be extended to all United States Citizens and exclude no one for any reason, at any time regardless of the services needed. This coverage shall be all inclusive of any medical need such as Hospital, Doctor, Medication, Dental, Eye and any other medical service performed by a licensed professional registered to practice in the United States of America.

To pay for this service we will apply a federal tax to all purchases of 4% regardless what is purchased and in addition to any state sales taxes.

DONE

Why does there need to be 10,000 pages to define something that is rather simple? People would rather pay an increased sales tax across the board and not have to worry about different plans, coverage and all that crap. You would no longer need insurance. Your ID would entitle you to care anywhere.

A Very Very Liberal Republican named Abraham Lincoln, who was actually more liberal than about a third of current congressional Dems.

By the way, a big part of this health care bill includes subsidies to help low and middle income people afford the premiums for the mandatory coverage.

Just like a Democrat to make an outragous claim that a Republican is really a Democrat.

Thats just about as good as trying to tell people you are giving them healthcare coverage, rather than the truth of just handing out fines for not having it.

I could go on and on. Enjoy the short time your people are in office.

It's not a false claim that while Lincoln was indeed a member of the Republican party, it is also true he was also a Liberal. I didn't make this up, this came from Dorris Kearns Goodwin who is a Presidential historian and one of the worlds foremost experts on the Lincoln Presidency. By the way, Eisenhower was pretty Liberal too and both parties actually courted him to run for their presidential nomination.

In fairness though, I view Clinton to be an economic Conservative due to his trade policies.

There are a lot of liberal Republicans PowerStroker. Why do you think Obama fooled so many Americans?

You, nor I am in a possition to say how liberal or conservative Lincoln was. We were not there. What is significant is that Lincoln WAS A REPUBLICAN. At the time freeing slaves was a very liberal thing to the Democrats and I think people may have mistaken old Lincoln as a liberal and thus why the real liberal folks had him killed.

I also find it VERY appauling that you wish to dump Clinton off at our farm. Its just typical of a Democrat to make such a silly assesment given the fact that Bill Clinton WAS and IS a Democrat. Its a nice try though PowerStroker, a lot like your buddies and their Healthcare plan. While they want to make people THINK they are providing healthcare, in reality they are just MANDATING it.

I myself lost faith in the Democratic party when your good buddy Bill Clinton embarassed the nation with his little blow job stunt. That was a TOTAL waste of tax payer time and money. I wont even mention how he cooked America's books, making people "THINK" their homes were worth more than they were only to be upside down when the correction came along. It was unprecidented and WRONG.

Before Clinton I did not pay much attention to politics, so I try not to go around acting like I know what people were like prior to my own birthday.

Lincoln was assasinated by a Confederate sympathizer.

If the sex scandal is your reason for hating Dems, have you actually paid attention to the number of Republican sex scandals in the last 5 years... Some of which were, gasp, homosexual.

I think pleanty of people have taken notice of the Republican sex scandals you speak of. I don't see how any of them have had such a profound effect as Bill Clinton's. Almost a year was WASTED on trials and negativity and them resources could have been going twards foiling the 911 attack.

That's cause the Dems didn't make a huge stink about it when the Republicans got caught with their pants down.

Notible Republican sex scandals since Clinton:  Pay special attention to the last one... The guy who lead the effort to impeach Clinton in the US House of Representitaves.

Republican Sex Scandals

Full list of scandals at Moral Values

2009

Mike Duvall, a Republican politician and a former member of the California State Assembly, resigned after his sex comments were broadcast. In the video, the married family-values crusader from Yorba Linda talks in graphic detail about women he said he slept with -- at least one of whom appeared to be a lobbyist with business before the utilities committee on which Duvall sat as vice chairman.[1][2]

Paul Stanley, Republican former member of the Tennessee Sen., resigned from the state Senate effective Aug. 10, after his affair with a 22-year-old intern and a subsequent extortion attempt was revealed to the public. [3][4]

Mark Sanford, governor of South Carolina, disappears during Father's Day weekend, returning to confess an extramarital affair in Argentina.[5][6][7]

John Ensign, Senator from Nevada, refuses to resign after confessing to an extramarital affair with a married staffer, claiming she was trying to extort him.[8] Later, it was learned he was attempting to pay her and her husband off through his parents and finding them jobs.[9]

Alan David Berlin in all his glory
Alan David Berlin in all his glory

Alan David Berlin, He is an aide for Senator Jane Orie of Pennsylvania. He is also a furry who contacted a fifteen year old boy over the internet, and offered to "yiff" the boy in a panda outfit, while his parents weren't home. The parents discovered the graphic emails on the boy's computer and called the attorney general's child predator unit sometime in May. Police raided his home and discovered various furry outfits such as a wolf costume, as well as a cat outfit; all complete with two holes cut out at the undersides of the costumes. He is now arraigned in Dauphin County jail on a $250,000 bail.[10][11][12][13]

Possibly Chip Pickering and a number of others. [14]

Michael Duvall, California state Representative in September 2009:

  • "Graphic sex-bragging caught on tape".[15]
  • Then lies and denies it and blames media [16].
  • Finally apologizes and resigns[17].

2008

Bruce Barclay, former Cumberland County commissioner, videotaped hundreds of sexual encounters many with male escorts using cameras hidden throughout his Monroe Township home.[18]

Matthew Joseph Elliott, former aide to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, was convicted of sexual exploitation of a child.[19]

Vito Fossella, the only Republican member of Congress from New York City, admitted to police to having a child out-of-wedlock when stopped for drunk driving.[20]

Derek Walker, former Eagle Scout and candidate seeking the GOP nomination in a race for north-central Pennsylvania district, was charged with felony burglary and criminal trespass stemming from an encounter last year with an ex-girlfriend, during which he allegedly broke into her home and used his cell phone to videotape her engaged in an intimate moment with another man.[23]

2007

Robert "Bob" Allen, Florida state Rep. arrested in the afternoon at a Veteran's Memorial Park for solicitation of prostitution from an undercover male officer inside a restroom. According to the papers, Bob "offer[ed] to perform oral sex for $20". Bob later claimed that his offer had something to do with his being afraid of black people.[24]

John David Roy Atchison, Republican prosecutor, was arrested for soliciting sex from a 5-year old girl, then killed himself three weeks later. At the time of his arrest, Atchison was an "assistant U.S. attorney" appointed by President Bush's attorney general.[25]

On August 8 in Hennepin County Municipal Court in Bloomington, Minnesota, Craig entered a guilty plea and paid a $500 fine.[28]. On September 1st, Craig subsequently announced his retirement from the Senate[29]. Five days later, Craig changed his mind, renounced his retirement and began a battle to have his guilty plea overturned.[30] Craig supported the Federal Marriage Amendment, which barred extension of rights to same-sex couples; he voted for cloture on the amendment in both 2004 and 2006, and was a cosponsor in 2008. However, in late 2006 he appeared to endorse the right of individual states to create same-sex civil unions, but said he would vote "yes" on an Idaho constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages when pressured to clarify his position by the anti-gay rights advocacy group Families for a Better Idaho. Craig voted against cloture in 2002, which would have extended the federal definition of hate crimes to cover sexual orientation.[31]

John R. Curtin, Monroe County state Republican committeeman, was convicted of molesting an underage teenage boy and sentenced to serve six to 18 months in prison.[32]

Richard Curtis, Washington State Rep., resigned from the House after reports of his sexual encounter with a male escort became public.[33] Curtis has an anti-gay rights voting record. He voted against domestic partnerships for gays and opposed a bill prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation.[34]

In 2002, charged with child molestation and under house arrest on federal charges of possessing child pornography, political analysts still gave him a 50-50 chance of winning the March 5 primary for the Orange County Superior Court seat. He lost the election to a write-in candidate.

Joseph M. McDade, 75, was issued a summons on a charge of exposure of sexual organs, a misdemeanor that carries up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. The longtime Pennsylvania Republican congressman who served for 36 years in the House and now works for a Washington lobbying firm, has been accused of exposing his private parts to two women at a beach resort on Sanibel Island. [39]

Patrick Lee McGuire, former former Flagler County Commissioner, surrendered to police after allegedly molesting girls between the ages of 8 and 13.[40]

During the investigation, a similar accusation from 1998 came to light.[43]

The man also said he saw Haggard use methamphetamine. Haggard confessed to undisclosed sexual immorality and said he bought meth but didnt use it.[56] After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive counseling, overseen by four ministers. In Feb 2007, one of those ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual." As of early 2009, Haggard continues to receive counseling, and now he says that he is a heterosexual with issues. [57]

Don Haidl, Assistant Sheriff of Orange Country, in violation of California's rape shield law, led a smear campaign against the child his son poisoned and then violently gang-raped on videotape, adding up to 24 felony counts. Bobby Stumbo, former Floyd County, KY, Republican Party leader, was arrested for having sex with a 5-year old boy.[75]

Jim West, Spokane Mayor. Supported a bill, which failed, would have barred gays and lesbians from working in schools, day-care centers and some state agencies. Voted to bar the state from distributing pamphlets telling people how to protect themselves from AIDS. Sure, anything to shift the focus off Obama screwing the entire nation both young and old with his nazi-healthcare.

Notice how BIG that list got after Clinton got caught getting a blow job from Lewinski. While I dont condone the actions of the people you mention above it surly illistrates how bad them Democrats wish to de-fame the Republicans.

Most of the people listed above were very LOW on the political spectrum. A hand full of them turned out to be sick in the head (Pedophiles) and deserve what they got coming to them but most were just guys who simply did not love their wifes anymore. It doesnt make it right that they cheated, but once again, after seeing how long that list grows after 2000 I wouldnt put it past the Democrats to have set up the cheating husbands with some hot ass paid hoe.

The fact that the search for Democratic sex scandals did not come up just shows our side is not the ones "Making a big stink". After all your guy Clinton was the PRESIDENT. He was supposed to be the cream of the Democratic crop so to speak. If thats the BEST the Democrats have to offer, Ill take my chances with the Republicans.

My point Rex, is that you really don't care about Clinton's blow job at all.  It's not about moral purity, otherwise you would be just as appauled at the Republican Party.  You're just a right wing crank who likes to use that issue as a justification for your party affiliation.

PowerStroker if you had taken the time to read that list above, rather than to deny it, you would realize there was A LOT of Democratic people who were un-faithful or otherwise kiddie fuckers. Just read the list and you will see.

I know for a fact it must have hurt, because even Stoma had to throw his two cents in. Did you really think that the Democrats didnt have problems with sicko's joining their party?

Regarding Clinton, he prolly fabricated his Lewinski issues to draw attention from all the other scams he was involved in. Word on the street is that there was a body count in the WhiteWater issue.

You know, I just realized something.  Not only is your list of Democratic scandals shorter than the list of Republican Scandals, you list includes all kinds of scandals, while the Republican list showed ONLY the SEX scandals.  Just imagine how big the list would be for all Republican scandals if it weren't limited just to their sex scandals.

It boggles my mind.

Anyway Rex, what was it you were saying about your being a Republican because Clinton got a blow job???  I got distracted there for a second.

What is a credible media outlet anymore? I think they all prosper on just one thing... BAD NEWS... Weather its true or not, well thats not important when they break the story.

Throwing mud usually ends up with both parties getting dirty. Just picking up a hand full means your already covered in it.

It boggles my mind.

What bothers me is that Clinton CHEATED ON HIS WIFE, WHILE IN OFFICE, IN A GOVERNMENT BUILDING, WHILE BEING PAID BY AMERICANS TO DO A JOB. The blow job itself has nothing to do with how I feel, as I always thought Monica Lewinski was rather ugly, and could never understand why he did it. Does not matter anymore... What is done is done. He made his bed, now he is sleeping in it.

Clinton was multitasking.

Do you really want the one person with our nuclear launch codes to have a lot of pent up sexual tension?

Well its not like he was married... Whats wrong with old Hillary giving him a BJ?

Back then, and even now Hillary is much better looking than Monica Lewinski.

I think Monica was a real bitch, and thus should have just been bitch slapped and sent home, rather than wasting the time of our nation.

She is and was just a fucking groupie! Had Clinton not made such a bad choice he would have likley been hailed a "Great Leader".

No PowerStroker, I never considered Monica Lewinski HOT. So I can't say the thought ever crossed my mind.

You on the other hand seem to have a thing for big girls, you also have a thing for big font sizes too. Just look at your list of Republican scandals. That font size must be three times the size of the one for the Democrats! Yet you try and play it off like its bigger when what you really meant to say was the FONT was bigger.

Here are some photos for you PowerStroker. Try not to get any on the key-board!
