E series started with it about 1/2 way through 2004. To my knowledge none of the E boxes had the early build (ICP in the hp cover) engine. Also E series continued to use it beyond the 07 MY because the 6.4 wouldn't fit. For any E series with a 6.0 built 08 MY and newer Ford has to pay emissions credits because they are non compiant. I think some Econolines got 6.0's even into 2009.
I just wrenched on an '10 E-350 just two days ago with all of 254 kms. on clock that came in for a low ICP (Injector Control Pressure) issue causing a no-start when up to operating temperature. It turned out, that whoever assembled the engine obviously forgot to torque to high pressure oil pump outlet to branch tube bolts.
I, like everyone else, thought 2009 was the last year for the 6.0L in an E-Series. But I guess not.
working out the bugs? Insufficient torque on a fastener is insufficient torque on a fastener... This is a design flaw? Or is this some self righteous lazy bastard can't fucking do his job right flaw?
Right now I'm pounding back a few cold ones at the local watering hole, I would imagine the guy who forgot to tighten them bolts must have been doing the same thing at his lunch break and that's why disgruntled is getting paid to retighten them. Is there a diffrence between a guy designing something wrong and one who works on the line whom fails to do his job right? One in the same if you ask me. But what do I know? I'm 3 pints to the wind! Gawd I love this iPhone that was designed in California but assembled in china!
