That's the real question many should be asking. It would seem that with all tax refund money coming out of the Federal coffers that people are naturally spending a little more. Question is will this artificial spike make it past June?

I see lot's of optimistic talk of "Consumer Spending on the rise", but not once has anyone made mention of why. Folks would like to think it is because this is the turning point, however my calculations indicate this is nothing more than Tax Refund dollars at work, and will not last. Once again this is another thing I would LOVE to be wrong about however we we have states closing next to half of their schools because the local government faces bankruptsy, one has to wonder.

I need not remind anyone of the soaring deficit, and the talking heads whom speak of a double dip recession. I don't want to come off as "Doom and Gloom" but I sure as hell don't want to start spending when I should be stuffing money back.

I seem to recal that every year, about this time, people start spending. It falls flat around May/June and usually does not pick back up until mid November.

I'm not sure if SPEEDING is really up or not... there doesn't seem to be any difference in the number of accidents... I'm not driving any different from how I usually drive and I don't see anyone passing me more than usual.

I'll bet you didn't mean "speeding" right?

Interesting video, but it only tells half the story...

Most of Obama's investments were made to save us from the brink of economic collapse, and actually save us money in the long run. Had Bush not done such a horrible job, those investments wouldn't be necessary.

How quickly we forget how Bush left things.

It's like I told everyone back in March... Obama will take credit for Holiday spending and the tax refund season then come June when all the people who cant manage their money spend it all the bottom will fall out!

What's the date today? June 2nd? Man sometimes I hate having to be right all the time! DOW is in the tank, Only 69K jobs last month, Unemployment going up and consumer confidence? FORGET ABOUT IT!

If Obama is re-elected to a second term you will see our nations credit rating drop, along with tax increases across the board. Even the lowest of classes will be paying income taxes at the end of the year, all to support Obama and the governments way of life! While we have crappy heath insurance much like how many states require a minimum crappy No-Fault auto insurance policy the people in government will have Sterling plans. Take for example that Gifford's chick, had that been any other American they wouldn't have wasted the time or the money. Soon we will ALL be required to buy some overpriced insurance that wont be worth a damn unless your damn near dead, and even then the plug will be pulled by the death panel in the name of "cost vs. bennifit ratio".

Meanwhile everyone who bought into the BS about getting to keep their current insurance plan will soon learn that it went out of business, or their company quit offering insurance because paying the fine was much cheaper! Then where will you be? ON THE PHONE FOR DAYS trying to argue with some bureaucrat while you die of a heart attack from the stress. But don't worry! Your government officials will have the Sterling plan, so they will get good care to ensure that your inheritance gets docked prior to being given to your kids, who will then repeat the cycle until it's ALL in the government coffers!

Then again, the Supreme court could rule Obama Care unconstitutional, and then of course it will have just been a total waste of 3 years by a man who went to Harvard and majored in "Constitutional Law". LOL!
