Well to give you one example PowerStroker, the Cash for Clunkers program squandered a lot of good vehicles by offering over-inflated rebates for older vehicles. The fact that they destroyed the engines with liquid glass and just gave the vehicles to "Chosen" junk jards to strip and then crush without any of the money from them vehicles having to be paid back is another squander in of itself.

It was a very poor idea that saw a lot of vehicles destroyed. Vehicles that took a vast amount of resources to produce. Vehicles are produced for the purpose of transportation, now our country has that many less vehicles, while the scrap yards and dealerships were the only TRUE people that made out. It has already been said that prices were over-inflated at that time for vehicles so the re-bate was really nothing more than a scam to make it look like someone was putting down a few G's.
