PowerStroke Diesel louder than a Boeing 777

Tonight I was driving home and was at a stoplight.  A newish Ford F350 Super Duty pulled up beside my 560SEC, on the left side. It had a large "PowerStroke V8" badge on the front fender.

The thing was not only extremely loud, but it whined like a jet airliner.  As we pulled away from the light, I could still hear the thing whining when I was 4 or 5 car lengths ahead of him.  Why is this?

Ford Trucks are obnoxious enough in and of themselves, but when they have these noise-making embellishments they really grate on the senses. What I tend to see here in Texas is that Ford Truck owners tend to be total, out-and-out hicks, while Chevy/GMC and Dodge Ram truck drivers are folks who you can tell work hard day in and day out and get real things accomplished.

I haven't figured out why hicks and rednecks are so attracted to Ford Trucks.

If it sounded like a loud turbine engine, that's the sound of a turbocharger when the muffler and cat have been removed.

I must be a redneck, or at least someone who loves punishment because I been thru hell and back yet still like the early 6.0 PowerStroke. I love how loud they are! I used to enjoy driving down the street late at night and watch people peek out their windows wondering if I was the repo man. Early 6.0's had the diesel sound and the louder the supercharge the bigger my boner.

I am also guilty of using a super duty for everything BUT real work. Prolly the only reason I still like the PowerStroke engines, because I have never had to really rely on one in a payload situation.

Out of the three (Chevy, Ford and Chrysler) I think the Ford trucks have the best ride, interiors and power. But that's just me. Chevy comes in a close second. You couldn't pay me to own a Dodge or Chrysler... Car or truck (Viper and old vintage muscle cars excluded).

This pipe approximates the diameter of the exhaust on the PowerStroker truck that I described, so it was obvious that it had some exhaust work done on it:

True story: When I was very young, I had a personal saying about Ford Trucks and their drivers: "Never fuck ... with a Ford Truck."

Man... Posting a photo of an Asian car anywhere in this forum is a bannable offence. LOL.. Just kidding, sorta.

There is nothing more degrading than having to look at Asian cars. I'd rather called a redneck and told to go fuck myself than see a photo of an Asian car in here!

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Good to know ... good to know. Then you'l like all of these photos taken at Seattle International Raceway of my 6.3 racing rice (the rice was circling warily around my car like sharks) as well as some other good examples of the breed.

oh yeah, and an example of a "rice" citation that I keep a ready supply of in my glove box.
