Another possible Government shut down threat?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44630531/ns/politics-capitol_hill/

I just love how MSDNC places a caption photo of Boehner above this link, even though the Senate who shot down stop-gap measures is controlled by the Democrats.

Looks like more of the same from the tax and spend Administration.

The problem with socialism is that "Eventually you run out of others peoples money to spend".

There's more to this story than you realize, and it has a lot more to do with Eric Cantor's desire to take Boner's job from a fellow Republican than anything to do with Dems.

Please tell us how that it is possible that the house majority leader can have ANYTHING to do with something the DEMOCRATS did in the SENATE?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Cantor

Boehner is speaker of the house (Ohio), and Cantor is in the house (Va.) please tell me how your statement holds water?

Seems like you are grasping at straws again PowerStroker.

The House and Senate had already agreed to a package of deep spending cuts for a continuing budget resolution months ago. Then some natural disasters happened which require the federal government to spend some off budget money on disaster relief to rebuild some washed out federal highways in some of the states. The tea party wing, lead by Eric Cantor thinks any disaster relief should be offset with immediate cuts elsewhere, while mainstream Republicans and most Democrats think we need to address the disasters immediately and are willing to wait for the super-committee in congress to find ways to pay for it. When poor Speaker John Boehner called the vote for what was supposed to be a routine continuing resolution that had already been agreed to, he suffered an embarrassing defeat by his own party because Eric Cantor organized a faction of Republicans to vote against it. The House then passed a newer version of the spending bill with immediate and huge offsets to cover the cost of disaster relief, but that was dead on arrival in the Senate - predictably. Now John Boehner sees the Tea Party crazies on his right licking their chops, and the entire Democratic caucus on his left giggling. And all because Eric Cantor wants to be Speaker of the House, and is willing to throw his "friend" Boehner under the bus, and even shut down the government to get his way.

And you say Republicans don't eat their own.

So let me get this straight...

Are you saying Cantor wants to eat Boehner? LOL! That's just sick!

Where I have trouble with your story is the fact that these were NATURAL disasters, and the fund to cover such things is getting sucked dry. The way I see it, if the fund does go dry, and something happens in my area, we are all fucked!

Seems to me the shit is on the Democrats, because for them to turn their noses up at a bill that would provide relief makes them look to be the bad guys, any way you slice it.

You didn't get this information from your new Obama website they set up did you? Because I hear they got a site for Democrats to visit that will provide politically tilted answers to any question or statement that might be considered Republican propaganda - aka the truth.

I don't need to get my talking points from Obama, I watch the news myself. The Senate voted it down for many reasons, not the least of which is for the purpose of slapping Cantor and letting him know that he's not going to get shit unless he's wiling to compromise. A deal between the two parties had already been reached on this issue until Cantor decided to blow it up at the last minute.  Some Senate Republicans voted agains the new Cantor version too... I don't think they're too happy with him right now.

Oh my goodness!

The nation seems to be falling apart under Obama's leadership.
