Wow,

That's a huge & powerful engine for its size ! Good post !

I'd nearly guess that these babies will end up in tug-boats or something similar...MTU are already known in the Marine Field for small but powerful engines.

That is a lot of oil too, but the sumps are actually varied, & you'll possibly find heaps larger ones that will carry & hold over 100-US-of-A gallons when fitted to smaller marine vessels...

What's Uncle Sam have in mind using them for ?

In the article it said they were putting these engines in tanks.

It's quite a mean looking getup..
