Cadillac Seville / Deville Trouble Code C0662 - Service Stability Control - Level Control Exhaust Valve Circuit Low Fix

Recently I replaced both front struts and rear air shocks with inexpensive aftermarket parts without the OEM sensors and wired in the required 2.2 ohm - 4.6 ohm resistors and was still getting the dreaded "Service Stability System" warning indicator along with the 100 MPH limitation. Upon further checking with a proper scan tool in the Stability Control computer I found a code listed as C0662 - Undocumented Code on the MT2500 Snap-On scanner. Further research reveled that this code was for the Level Control Exhaust Valve Circuit, which could be several things from a bad pump, shorted wire or plugged suspension exhaust valve for the rear air shocks... In my case it was a blown Maxi Fuse for the Level Control Exhaust  circuit that was causing the problem, likely from the ripped bags on the old air shocks that kept the pump running all the time. Upon replacing the fuse my Service Stability Control indicator no longer came up on the dash and the problem was solved.

The Maxi Fuse is located under the rear seat in the fuse compartment near the battery. IIRC it was fuse 55 or 56 but you should be able to see it in your owners manual, or the back side of the lid for the fuse compartment. It is a 30 amp Maxi fuse (big one).

Not everyone will have just a blown fuse, sometimes as I have said you can have a shorted out wire, seized pump or a plugged exhaust valve for the stability control system. The pump assembly is located behind the right rear wheel and comes out as a unit. If you replace the fuse and it blows again right away you will want to remove this unit and inspect for bad wires or seized pump / valve.

Hope that helps!
