The taint of John McCain on future political candidates running for public office with military backgrounds.

Recently in our local election we had a guy who was of a military career running for office in our election. I can not help but to think of John McCain and his falling apart after losing the election to Obama.

I was one of the people who voted for McCain, but to see him come apart in such a way against his own party really gave me moment to pause... It was quite a slap in the face when McCain came out against Republicans and I wanted to write this before he passes as mention of this or anything negative is usually highly frowned upon after death, although there is always them few people who just don't give a $hit and tell it like it really was..

So that's my question, has John McCain put the "stink" on candidates who run for office that have a military background? Yes McCain was a POW and that has to be a really hard position to be in, but how did he get there? Is it a situation like the Chealse Manning?

Have much love and respect for the military but I just had to mention it...

I don't think he has his "taint" on the military. He looks bad, has often but the Military people stand on their own.

I know you don't "think" he has, but as someone who VOTED for McCain back in 2008 and the revelations between then and now... I feel pretty betrayed!

I can tell you it did pop into my mind and it did have an effect on my decision and I can't be alone because this local guy did not secure the nomination.

Then again you never know, it might come out many years from now that Trump really was a bad guy and McCain was right to distance himself from him, in that case the "taint" would be replaced with vindication, thus making me feel good about my vote in 2008 for McCain, further promoting military folks for office... but this is just speculation at best and not what I felt most recently.

Just an honest observation I am sharing.
