I been hearing it more and more, and not on any web forums or in the mainstream media... but from real people in conversation.
People saying something like Obama is not termed out, and that technically he can run again because he did not exceed term limits by running in 2016.
Any truth to this?
When a President has served 8 years is he only term limited to running for that third term, or does that two term limit apply to the rest of their life?
It's a good question, as I sat there each time with my mouth open in disbelief that someone would even suggest it, I didn't know the real verbiage of the Presidential "term limits" to even clap back.

The 22nd Amendment limits a president to 2 terms, it doesn't matter if he sits out an election. The maximum a president can hold office is 10 years total, and he would have to have served less than half of his predecessors first term to pull that off. For example, if Trump were impeached and Pence took over before the halfway point of Trump's first term, Pence could only run for reelection once, but if he takes over after the halfway point, he could run twice.
So the answer is No, you have nothing further to fear from Obama. He will never take your guns away, so it's ok to stop hating him now.
