Rex knows that the scientific community and those who are even moderately educated are in disagreement with him on climate change. But since he is among the most unsophisticated specimens of human, he doesn't even realize the extent to which he doesn't know. He is truly one of the lowest white men that President Lyndon Johnson was talking about in my signature line. Just give him some brown people to look down on, and he will thank you, and empty his pockets for you with great satisfaction.

If one were of the belief that climate is the only thing that has any effect on the polar bear population. An interesting bit of trivia, all summed up in a meme (as usual), could lead an unsophisticated person to believe everything is just fine.

However, a more sophisticated person would know that polar bears, while certainly affected by climate change, have an even larger issue that affects their population - hunting (or lack thereof). The Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 outlawed hunting of polar bears except by Alaskan natives, and accounts for their overall increase in population despite the overall shrinking of their habitat.

So as you can see, a single act of policy actually CAN make a positive change to this planet... Or as Rex calls it his ashtray. Perhaps we can make some new climate policy and really get the polar bear population to grow, and for that matter, keep the place viable for future generations of humans too!

Ozone is shrinking due to another policy we enacted to greatly reduce the amount of chlorofluorocarbons being released. It's why automotive air conditioning systems no longer use R12 and instead changed to R134a and now R1234yf. R12 was not only a greenhouse gas, but had chlorine which destroys ozone. R134a is a greenhouse gas but doesn't destroy ozone so it's the lesser of the two evils. R1234yf I don't know much about yet, I suppose I could google it.

This is yet another example for Rex on how human decisions actually do effect our planet, and thus we should actually make an effort by electing policy makers who actually care about future generations.

I think this is the fourth time I have had to say that pollution and climate change are two different things.

Yes, pollution can have immediate and long lasting effects on our environment however things like earth quakes, wild fires, volcano eruptions, tornados, hurricanes, cyclones and weather events are all natural and there is nothing you or your pals can do about them. I find it offensive you guys are trying to tie them all together and I think it should be criminal when you guys start looking for money to fix the issue when you know damn well no amount of money is going to stop the world from turning! It is nothing short of fraud and I am glad President Trump pulled out of the Paris climate treaty because Obama and the Clintons looked to enrich themselves even further by pushing this climate change agenda at the worlds expense.

There are many kinds of pollution... Particulate matter for example is pollution and doesn't relate to global warming. So too are greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide pollution. CO2 and other greenhouse gas pollution actually do cause global warming. I agree there are many natural sources of pollution that we can do nothing about. This has been true since the formation of the planet, and the planet can endure the natural ones. I'm saying that the things we can control - we should control because it makes all the difference. If we allow the present level of man made greenhouse gas pollution to continue, the oceans will warm enough to release an enormous amount of presently frozen methane which is a much more potent greenhouse gas than CO2, and there is lot's of it currently frozen at the ocean floor where we need it to stay if Earth is to remain our home. The problem becomes exponentially worse the longer we wait because as the polar ice caps melt, the percentage of the planet that is white and reflective of sunlight diminishes and causes the planet to absorb more heat than it would otherwise.

This hostility to the planet, and quite frankly to scientific fact generally is disturbing. If there is one issue where you really need to let go of your ideology for the sake of our species, it's this.

Last week during a testy exchange with President Donald Trump at a post-midterm press conference, Acosta debated the president on whether or not the migrant caravan is an invasion. The White House correspondent rejected the notion that members of the caravan would try to climb walls and fences to get into the United States as depicted in a Trump campaign ad.

According to reports, approximately 6,000 mostly military-aged Honduran males are camped out in Tijuana, Mexico, a city that borders San Diego.

The thousands of migrants camping out in Tijuana are hoping to enter the United States legally or illegally.

Deutsche Welles Spanish language channel, DW Español, traveled to Tijuana in order to interview some of the migrants living in the camps. A reporter asked one of the migrants how the living conditions were in the camp.

The Honduran woman interviewed by the reporter called the free meals given to her pig food.

The food that theyre handing out here is terrible. Refried beans? As if they were feeding the pigs. If we dont eat this, we will die of hunger, the ungrateful Honduran migrant said.

Imagine how demanding these Hondurans will be once they cross over into the United States.

They will demand free housing, medical care, food stamps and education for their families.

New information on Monday hints that President Trump will authorize troops at the Southern Border to use force if the migrant caravan becomes violent.

As reported by magavoter.com

New information coming on Monday indicates that President Trump is expected to allow US troops stationed along the US-Mexico border the authority to use force to defend themselves and border patrol personnel from migrants.

According to US officials familiar with the situation, the president is expected to grant the military permission to protect Customs and Border Patrol agents with deadly force, should members of the migrant caravans use violence while attempting to enter the country.

The Pentagon is expected to amend rules governing soldiers use of force specifically regarding the mission at the border, which according to officials, would be strictly in relation to the protection of CBP during their duties.

As of Monday, just under 6,000 US troops were deployed along the border in preparation for the caravans of Central American migrants, with another 5,000 more potentially on the way.

In a statement, a spokesperson for DHS said we will not allow our frontline personnel to be in harms way. We will do everything we can to protect those who defend our nations sovereignty and secure our border.

Once they are here, then what? They will drive without licenses, work for cash and send it back home - undercutting the American worker! Obviously it will take a great deal of resources to get these people homes, jobs, educations and health care - resources that we need to be spending on current citizens. There is no easy way of taking them in! If we put them to work they will claim to be slaves, if we let them rot they will claim inhumane treatment and turn to crime.

I think Trump is doing the right thing and these people seem almost criminal in their desire to enter the USA! Once they are here I really dont see how they could do anything but continue to break the law until ultimately someone has to put them down, or they get a free ride in our prison system for years at tax payers expense...

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said a majority of the migrants in the caravans are not eligible for asylum in the U.S.

Nielsen released the statement Monday following Sundays clashes between border authorities and migrants at the Southwest border near San Diego.

She said many of the migrants have refused multiple opportunities to get protection from the UN refugee agency in Mexico.

Nielsen added, seeking employment or family reunification are not grounds for asylum under U.S. laws.

This comes as DHS confirmed more than 600 of the migrants are convicted criminals, and pose a national security risk to the U.S.

Interesting how the DHS secretary can declare people ineligible for asylum before they have even had their hearings, or even a chance to ask for it. Certainly if DHS has info on any particular person that pertains, they should forward it to the judge deciding the case, but that's about the extent of their power in this matter. Congress has the authority to regulate the courts and determine the parameters of what qualifies a person for asylum. Perhaps they will make a change, but I don't see a reason to. I imagine some would like to add language to existing law and declare any person who has more pigment in their skin than would be typically found of someone of European descent ineligible, but it would fail.
