Jeff Bezos about to lose half his $hit in divorce!?

SELLC wrote:

But what I don't understand, is how that company makes so much money?

I don't know.. just seems really odd a company like Amazon could have so much money.. something is just not right about it..

I've bought some CD's & stuff from them over the years, & the "scam" lay in the exchange-rate, taxes, handling fees, & your choice of mail...All this to say, that your $12:00 live RUSH bootleg CD will cost you $60:00+ by the time you click on "Send-it-on-over-Yo" !

The "handling charges" for the CD was over $15:00(?), yet alone mailing costs...He's got it geared like the gov't, where he takes-a-cut out of each of the process above, as it's part of the "service" offered.

( I just paid more for handling fees than the actual cost of the CD, yet alone mailing costs lol ! Sucker ???...Yes maybe, but you gotta pay for the hard-to-get-stuff I suppose lol ) !

"You want it ?...You can have it !!! But you gotta pay for it first" ! And pay we do lol !

Over here Amazon basically had the USPS and FedEx as their bitch, doing their two day delivery for free with a Prime membership. The shippers were actually losing money and I have wrote about this in the past, where China could ship something to the USA for less than I could send something to my neighbor around the block! Trump put an end to a lot of this, but obviously Amazon has a lot of packages they ship so I am sure they are getting a bulk discount still with many carriers. Here in the US Amazon is trying to get into it's own logistics by having their own delivery vans and even their own jumbo jets to move their products, cutting out the mail carriers.

I don't use Amazon, although I have had a friend with Prime order a few items for me once back in the early days. I check the prices between Amazon and eBay all the time and often times they are about the same, so I stick with eBay since they are more friendly to small sellers and also great deals for the buyers. I have never been impressed with the site layout, not in the early days or even today. Amazon is diversifying in many ways and their "Ring" camera services and equipment scare me the most because lets face it, I don't trust Amazon or Jeff Bezos. Come to think of it I really don't trust anyone or thing, but I have a special disliking for anything Amazon.

All that being said, I realize there are obviously a great deal of people who do like Amazon and their products and services, so I hope they continue to keep their customers happy as I don't wish them any ill-will. I am only critical of Jeff and his company because there is a lot I just don't understand about their coming about and rise. Following Jeff Bezos personal life, especially lately, has been more or less entertainment. When you're the richest man in the world I would imagine such things are just to be expected.

I haven't bought anything from anyone on the net lately.

The gov't over here is trying to get their tax-on-stuff too...This means that with e-bay &/or Amazon, you'll pay a double, or even triple-dose on tax...eg. You find your "thing", & it's in Spain...So you pay Spanish sales tax, then US-of-A sales tax, & now, Oz sales tax too...

They're trying to localize the "net" market, & stop this, but the methods don't work, & you pay...

Also, because of the above, you go through all the processes to check-out & pay, only to be declined the sale...So you check your Card, & make sure it's loaded with $$$, & then do your own exchange rate calculations, & confirm everything's good-to-go, & you still get declined the sale. And of course, your purchase appraisal suffers on the site, since you defaulted, & no-one knows, or can tell you why...Frustrating lol !

Easier to just "find-your-thing", & deal with the vendor directly with Pay-Pal, & skip e-bay & the others. At least here in Oz.

As you can see from the above, a Credit-Card process "could" have possibly allowed the process to go through, since "they" could grab-your-cash along the way, & you'd never know, until you check-out your incurred debt on the card.

Easier for folks State-side, that's for sure !

I don't think it's fair to blame eBay or Amazon for what you are describing Rastus. What you describe sounds more like your country making sure it gets it's taxes as it is very rare that you would be asked to pay sales taxes ordering from outside the country. It sounds more like your VAT plus local taxes and shipping that are making things more expensive for you to purchase. A lot of these cost are already built into the cost of your items purchased locally because being on a remote island, a lot of things must be imported in.

I don't like surprise charges any more than you, which is why I try to avoid purchasing items from out of the country if at all possible.

True !

But they get you with a "cheap" initial asking price, that often doubles or triples by the time of check-out...

eg, I just loaded my Card with $300:00 AUD, to grab an offer for some books & things from Sirius Disclosure, where a package was offered for about $150:00. At the time of check-out with mailing costs, I had to find $230:00+USD to purchase...After the exchange-rate conversion, I didn't have enough $$$ to purchase...

Anyhow, for the rest-of-the-world, everything "has" to come from / through / out-of-the US-of-A, since everything gets converted into US-of-A dollars, & the businesses like Pay-Pal etc are managed from the US-of-A...

Again, I think that is only when dealing outside of the country Rastus... If you buy things in Australia they probably don't ask for USD, and if you purchased something from Germany they too would want your funds to be in their currency.

US currency is often times accepted anywhere though, but that is just because its easy to convert and most are more than willing to charge conversion fees in their favor to do so. When I use to visit the Casinos in Canada, back before I turned 21, I use to convert my money at the duty free because back then it was almost like getting back 50% more cash due to the conversion. Lots of places in Canada did still accept American currency they were just sure to add in their conversion fees to collect the extra return themselves. You can drink at age 19 in Canada.

You are all FOOLS! And here is PROOF!

'Amazon will go bankrupt': Jeff Bezos keeps talking about Amazon's inevitable death

https://www.sfgate.com/technology/businessinsider/article/Amazon-will-go-bankrupt-Jeff-Bezos-keeps-13451525.php

Everyone is so busy focusing on the divorce they have failed to see what is REALLY happening here!

And yet Jeff Bezos has recently donated $10 BILLION to the liberal Climate Change initiative! I think the government really needs to be on top of these liberal schemes to squirrel away billions of dollars of a company that is being purposely run into the ground. When Amazon goes bust - and it will, this according to it's own CEO himself above, then we will ALL take a hit! Meanwhile, Bezos will still have all his property and kickbacks from the investment into the liberal arts of climate change deception.

It is sickening for this man to think that his $10 billion dollars would make any difference in the natural order of the world! For people to accept this as a legitimate charity is laughable because it's sole purpose is to funnel $10 Billion out of Amazon and keep the money tax free for ole' Jeffy the lover boy. Serious oversight should accompany such large donations like this!

Here is a man bragging about bankrupting his company and while he liquidates and funnels the money we all are supposed to sit here and give him the glove clap!? This prick is the reason we all suffer when he runs his company into the ground after all the cream is taken off the top! Or maybe Jeff just sells Amazon to China or some other foreign company, who then holds the RING to all the cameras they have live streaming on everyones door-steps!? At the rate that Amazon has grown in the past decade it may have already been built with foreign money because I find it hard to believe some mail order company could somehow be one of the most valuable companies in the country.

Microsoft, Apple and perhaps Google may be somewhat solid.. I have seen Apple down in the dumps to the tune of less than $100 per share in very recent memory. Google seems to have a foot-hold in the computer market with it's Android and software offerings and I have seen Microsoft weather the storm my entire life... But Amazon? All that Jeff needs now is a big party with ice cherubs pissing vodka and I'd say he would have even Tyco beat!

What does Jeff Bezos care if he runs Amazon into the ground? His good name? LOL! Bezos isn't even his biological name! HA-HA! Joke is on you suckers!

Seems to be an argument for an enormous wealth tax and for dusting off the Sherman anti-trust act. Both of which my side would support, how about you?

Judging from how poor your side usually is when entering office, opposed to how rich they are when they are in office and leave office - I think it's safe to say your side will support anything or anyone who can pay to play.

Just a few modern day examples would be Obama, The Clintons, The Biden's and AOC... All these people were middle class until they got into politics.. Now they are rich and the country is over $20 trillion in debt! confuse

I don't know PowerStroker, your side allowed Comcast and MSNBC to join together, which is a huge anti-trust issue.. So it would seem to me the left is really just interested in themselves, at least at the government level.

Lets say the Democrats took the White House and wanted to crack down on such monopolies, would you support or oppose that effort?

You know... I just don't know...

Obviously I doubt Democrats are going to take the White House in 2020... The market would have to near crash, or something so serious that people were willing to give up the gains in their 401k's and business ready to give up their tax breaks... and you can read that as pretty darn serious.

And while I make it a general rule not to comment on hypotheticals, if they did - I just don't know. I am a big fan of re-investment into the country by way of hiring or buying equipment and expanding... I am not a big fan of just giving the Government lots of money without an exact breakdown of what the people will get. Obviously the Government gets enough already!

But I am very concerned with the way things have been the last 10 years with the internet... Places like Facebook and Twitter pretty much ensure that a small company would never survive. The entire computer culture from Apple on down to Microsoft and Google seem to do their best to ensure retention of customers rather than diverse inclusion - which is to say that security and privacy are starting to come with a price tag - and even then the price is usually your security and privacy to use the services.

I don't like when the Government gets involved in private enterprise... If they aren't going to own it and regulate it, they should just leave it alone. We already have the Post Office which while it usually covers most of it's operating cost - the service to send mail to every address in America is one that benefits everyone, but I still use FedEx and UPS more for large packages or items not able to fit into a flat rate box or regular envelope.

I don't care much for Amazon, PowerStroker... so I really wouldn't care what they did with it, but I would worry about the next big company and what that would mean for me so I have to be very careful what I wish for - even if I don't like the company.

I guess that is the closest I can come to answering that question.

Well..Well..Well..

You guys aren't going to believe this, but someone went onto Amazon and used my Barclays "Ring" card to make fraudulent charges on Amazon!

barclayamazon.png

So now my Barclays Ring card is locked down until I can get another one in the mail...

I find this very ironic, especially since I don't even like or use Amazon!

I will say that Barclays fraud department was ON IT! They notified me instantly thru text message where I was able to respond and flag the fraudulent charges immediately! I'm glad too because I don't do business with Amazon!

So our good Friend Jeff Bezos cashed out another $1.8 BILLION in stocks a few days ago...

https://www.foxbusiness.com/business-leaders/jeff-bezos-sells-1-8b-worth-of-amazon-stock

But I guess it was only half of what he cashed out back in August 2019 when he took Sanchez to the NFL hall of fame. ($3 billion)...

https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/jeff-bezos-sells-amazon-stock-attends-nfl-hall-offame-wimbledon

One has to wonder, what does anyone plan to do with $4.8 billion dollars? I guess if you were as ugly and as much of a dork as Bezos you'd need that much money to get a date. confuse

Ole' Elon Musk of Tesla cashed out a lot of stock recently as well... Things are doing well for them! Good for them! But let's see if they pass the test of time... We'll be watching!

One has to really wonder how people like Bezos and Musk knew to sell off just in time for the market turn down... It was inevitable that the market was going to get shaken as it is a Presidential election year. That alone would be enough of a reason for many except this particular Wuhan virus has now turned into a national emergency. It's just funny how things play out because I am sure both these guys will have lots of losses to offset any taxes on their recent and massive stock cash outs! Plus, the silver lining is they will use these savings to buy up their shares when the market reaches its lowest point.

I think things may be a little tougher for Musk and Tesla because in hard economic times people will often times forgo such luxury status items like electric cars, especially since gas is nearing .99 cents a gallon! I think this could be a death blow to Tesla and from what I understand Musk has been bankrupt three times in the past - so he is no stranger to a company going belly up.

Still, a lot of good and hard working people are seeing their investments and 401k's evaporating before their very eyes... already what amounts to a 10k hit to the DOW alone! I don't think it is fair for these people, but again they were the ones who took the risks in opening and depositing into a 401k that is tied to market performance. There were other methods for saving they could have invested in, but I am sure for many it was the best game in town at the time they were rolled out.

Oh yeah, I absolutely agree, 100%.

Spybot though, has always maintained that it does not want to profit or make $$$ from its service. It believes folks shouldn't be screwed for spending time in the 010101-world.

That said, it "has" in this instance combined with a cloud server that has a number of "big" name antivirus folks involved, the likes of Avast, AVG, Lavasoft etc etc.

All you have to do, is turn the update off, & run a check, that's all. And even if they can't remove or completely identify the who, what's & where's, at least you get the confirmation of being spied on.

Apparently I have over 69 trackers, & my e-mail, & passwords have been corrupted over 10-times yadda, yadda. So our freedoms & liberty's have been breached, & there's nothing we can do about it.

Prison planet ?...You better believe it !

It might be time to **** all this shyte off, & get back to a regular life lol. So if I disappear, I'm taking a holiday, because I'm really tired of all this bollox to be honest.

Not only are people screwing themselves up believing all this bollox, they're happy to be paying for it too, & that ain't me.

I only chat on this forum, & the trackers seem to come from here.

LOL !

No one's to blame here my friend !

You only have to check-out the user list from time-to-time to realize lots of folks from around the globe visit, & they're the likely source of the corruption imo...

And to those folks that do only visit from around the globe, I hope you get a lot-of-insight from us all, & a good laugh too from time to time !

( I have to admit, that I recently read the Fukushima thread from the start, & what a laugh the opening few posts are. Awesome . (I wonder if the Corona virus has delayed the progress of a few new nuke plants being built ?...( I'll check-out wnn )))...

Well our bald cock-eyed friend at Amazon just cashed in another million shares of Amazon for a cool $13 billion dollars to put in his bank account and collect interest on... Meanwhile his ex-wife changed her last name to Scott and gave away a bunch of money, although with the interest she makes on the existing money, and Amazon's recent stock increase many say that she didn't take much of a hit... guess she gave a lot of money to Democrats and Obama charities. And to think I thought she was cool at one point.

Folks, this is just fucked up! Recently I had a USPS priority mail package that was supposed to be delivered in 2-3 days take 2-3 WEEKS! Guess it sat in a storage locker for weeks as the post office is too busy catering to the likes of Amazon and other big companies to make regular folks a priority. Lost a $200 sale as the buyer naturally refused the package after it was delivered almost three weeks late! Still havent gotten the item back yet as it seems to be stranded somewhere in NJ, although I have already had to refund the item cost and pay all fee's related to it's sale and shipping. I have decided to pull all my parts sales until such time as things are more normal because I can see this is going to open the door to countless scams, and meanwhile, Amazon is getting great service from the USPS in most cases where the item is delivered from their fulfillment warehouses.

We have a serious problem with people here in the USA with inequality and it's a lot bigger than just black folks... Remember Bill Gates? His Microsoft was caught up in all sorts of Anti-Trust cases, yet look at him today! He is trying to corner the market in COVID-19 services and the guy isn't even a Doctor or Pharmacist! He wasn't much of a computer programer either as many say he just stole the ideas of many to usher in his Windows and ironically enough, that system was always virus prone! He can't keep a virus off Windows, but he knows how to cure COVID? Give me a break!

https://www.foxbusiness.com/money/jeff-bezos-wealth-13-billion-overnight

Amazon has gotten MASSIVE tax breaks and often times negotiates massive tax breaks on it's warehouses prior to building them! When the shit does hit the fan, we will be left holding the bag while these crooks companies file for bankruptsy, while they scurry off to some foreign country to live like a king on all the money they squandered! Take for instance Bill Gates, he left for Africa - but now he is wanting to get back in the game - this time with your health!

Amazon and AWS is planning to launch a new Podcast thru their company and invites people to join with the stipulation that the content not be about or critical of Amazon, The bald-headed home-wrecker or any of his services!

Sounds about right for Jeff Bezos, aka the bald-headed home-wrecker.

Jeff Bezos is probably the only guy I know that gets rewarded for such bad ethical behavior. It's like he is someone's bald headed step child!
