look at ANY corporations taxes across 10 years and you might understand...

I have used Amazon maybe a few times, I don't understand how they got so big...

The idea that Amazon is paying nothing in taxes will not sit well with many, especially given Jeff Bezos recent love affair and divorce.

But lets take a good look at Bezos and Amazon... Bezos IS a Democrat - even supported many Democrats along with same sex marriage. Bezos owns the Washington Post, a highly partisan news desk that is known to be pro-Democrat. This is a DEMOCRAT who is running Amazon, this is a Democrat who is accepting corporate welfare! It is just par for the course in the world of Democrats! Why is another Democrat knocking Bezos?

Because they don't like to pay taxes...

But they got a $600 million dollar Federal contract with the CIA back in 2014 and it is said that they have all but been written into a new $10 billion dollar contract in 2018!

But technically Besos is just doing what is allowed by law, so as angry as it makes me, the blame really lies with those who wrote the law in this manner.

I'm fully aware that a business should be able to write off investments/expenses etc, which I'm sure they already did, and which I do for my LLC. The $11.2 Billion is not Gross, it's NET PROFIT after writing off expenses. I'm of the opinion that Uncle Sam should be entitled to a cut of any NET PROFIT every year from all companies regardless of size or "contribution to society" for so long as Uncle Sam gets an annual piece of my profit. Some disagree with me, and that's just fine... Bat shit crazy, but it takes all kinds.

The offset was from losses in previous years...

Do you really think a corporation should not be able to write off past losses?

Do you TRULY understand what changing that will do to the economy the next time the economy slows down?

and I can assure you they pay MUCH more than you do...

the ability to offset future earnings from past losses is not a LOOPHOLE...

A loophole is a deduction for a private jet...YES they did that and I agree that should not be allowed....

but the ability to offset past losses to future earnings is why major corporations do not simply furlough everyone during a recession...

and yes when a corporation makes a 160 billion dollar investment in the country YES they deserve an offset against an 11 billion dollar profit...
