Isn't this basically the equivalence of ratting out your entire client list?

Cohen Offers to Turn Over Hard Drive Files in Leniency Bid

https://www.yahoo.com/news/cohen-offers-turn-over-hard-010050450.html

I don't know about you, but what very little trust I had in an attorney is completely GONE at this point! All these years wondering why attorneys always try and hold on to your documents you give them is now clear!

I doubt I could ever trust an attorney again after Cohen!

Is he not basically trying to barter with Democrats to stay out of jail by breaking his oath and confidentiality?

Cohen better hope he gets solitary confinement when in prison because I don't think this is going to end well for him. Had he been a good lawyer I doubt he would be in this mess, at this point his only hope is finding a sympathetic Jewish judge.

Any leniency bid would need to be approved by the Justice Department. Democrats don't presently run the Justice Department.

Anyone has actually trusted a lawyer before?

Know the difference in a lawyer and a catfish?

One is a scum sucking bottom feeder, the other is a fish.

What I am wondering is if his giving up all this information, isn't that a violation of attorney client privilege? Or does that no longer apply because he has been disbarred?

You have to know that within that millions of files has to be information on a LOT of people!

There is an exception to the privilege if failure to reveal the information would also result in the attorney being party to a crime. As president Trump's personal fixer for many years, there are any number of crimes for which Cohen himself would be culpable.

Perhaps it's just better to live a life in which one has no need for a "fixer" in the first place?

Agreed...

I hear that the motto remains however, that " You have to be a big-rat to make-it in the rat-race "......And that means help from other rats like lawyers...

Well I think it's plain to see that Cohen was the one convicted of crimes, and not Trump! That being the case, there is something really wrong with this!

People hire attorneys to know the law and uphold their oaths! If Cohen was doing things he knew were illegal why does that mean everyone who was his client loses their rights to privacy?

You really seem to let serious issues slide because of your Trump derangement syndrome. It's like you can't even see straight anymore PowerStroker!

Not everyone did lose their right to attorney client privilege. In fact, a special master was appointed to go through the stuff seized in the Cohen raid to determine if anything was so protected, in which case, those items were withheld from Mueller's team. The result of this is that the overwhelming majority of the material relating to other clients was protected. A smaller percentage of the Trump stuff was protected because the special master rightly ruled that Cohen's personal involvement in crimes on behalf of President Trump were not done in his capacity as an Attorney, but as a fixer - for which there is no privilege.

People hire attornies to "FIX" many things, from a parking ticket all the way up to felonies! People pay attornies to fix the problem, the customer is not a professional in law and relies on the attorney.

Same goes for a plumber or a mechanic! People pay professionals for their knowledge and often times haven't a clue what happens on the back end, nor do they care so long as the problem is fixed, right?

Yet when it comes to law and medical it's considered a "practice", which is just a way of limiting liability for them since their product is people.

You don't feel a good attorney would always protect his client? You don't feel a good attorney would have ridden out the storm and asserted his client privilege in every single question? I think Cohen got too cocky and the Democrats taking him down only served to protect Trump even more as his attorney tried to throw his client under the bus to save his own skin! That is what I see here! If Cohen fixed something and got paid for doing so that's like you performing work and then welching on the warranty because you didn't feel like re-doing the job, no?

You see PowerStroker, we have a rule here... You never leave your wingman!

So Cohen should have advised President Trump not to do all the illegal shit he was doing, instead of helping him fix it during and after the fact?

I agree!

That must be some more of that secret "code" that Cohen claims that Trump speaks... You know, the one where Cohen interprets Trump asking him to break the law without every actually telling him to break the law...

Very fascinating stuff!

The fact Trump slept with these women is not a crime...in fact it is really none of our business...just like Clinton's blow job WAS NONE OF OUR BUSINESS...

The crime is a stretch because paying these women is not a crime...the only thing that makes it a crime is the amount and Cohen originally came out of pocket to pay it...

So it is a STRETCH that any REAL crime took place...if Cohen was in fact reimbursed then it would not be a campaign donation...the problem was at the time the allegation was made he had not been reimbursed...

all of it is mountains of mole hills...Obama had much LARGER campaign violations in 2008...it was kept pretty quiet and he was allowed to pay a fine for his violations...

all this came from a bogus investigation...while it is not bogus the investigation took place as it could have been true...in the end they found no evidence of collusion...therefore the investigation became bogus...

people were indicted...certainly...most of those were Russians...the few who were not Russians were not indicted of any crime that related to collusion but other crimes...and most of those had ZERO to do with Donald Trump...

The left wing media clings to these talking points because it is all they have left...Trump was not charged with a single crime, and democrats are scrambling now...

they will repeat a false narrative over and over hoping it is all people will remember...

What is the illegal thing Trump did?

It is a narrative you continue to repeat...

and yet there has not been one single charge brought against Donald Trump yet...

If you think the only things Cohen was involved in fixing was women, I think you'll probably be in for a disappointment.

A lack of charges doesn't prove innocence, it only proves the Justice Department believes in sovereign immunity for a president - a long held tradition there.

I see so since there are no indictments and no convictions against the man you gt to make up your own narrative?

if it is like you say some long held tradition then why would I be disappointed?

sounds more to me like you are the one disappointed...you fell for the deception of left wing media outlets who convinced you Donald Trump was guilty of all these things...

You supported a two year investigation to get to the bottom of it which you have many times said would result in his being impeached and removed from office...

but since that did not play out...it is now some long lived tradition....

You're fucking pathetic....

ROFLMAO

Did you see what Michael Cohen was convicted of?

He got three years for tax fraud about his taxi fleet...he got 2 months added to that for lying to congress...

one has NOTHING to do with Trump (the three year sentence) and the other has no evidence to bring a charge against Trump...

The others convicted in the whole Mueller investigation were for crimes unrelated to Donald Trump...

Tricky Dick was not going to get any SOVEREIGN IMMUNITY....lol

They just in your face pardoned Nixon for his crimes...

like they just did for Jussie Smollett...

So then you won't mind if the full Mueller report gets released to the public... To vindicate president Trump?

I have been very clear I think it certainly should be released in full with NOTHING at all redacted...

I have also been clear that if there is true guilt of Trump kick him out of office...

But it is pretty clear that there is nothing of what they went after TRUE...

Having not seen the full report I do not know if there is some other reason to indict...

but it has been made very clear by a lack of charges that the whole Russian collusion which was what has been repeatedly claimed for over two years was BULLSHIT...

And people like Adam Schiff should be in jail for TREASON...

Treason means either waging war aginst the United States, or giving aid and comfort to those are.

Whereas Congress has not declared war against anyone presently, it's pretty hard to charge anyone with treason these days.

Bearing false witness against a sitting president...is treason...

Not according to the definition in the Constitution.

... Which is good for President Trump who repeatedly said false things about then sitting President Obama.

Treason is narrowly defined by the Constitution.

Trying to overthrow the president by coup whatever is treason. It's not just wartime stuff but has to be darn serious and witnesses.

Probably not (not alone anyway) but who knows what he has done and to what extent. We really don't.

I don't think he is any worse than MSM on the lying bullshit stories.

Yeah, I think trying to railroad a sitting President that was freely elected by the people is treasonous.

To what degree Schiff is guilty? I am sure he would get a fair trial and then maybe at the end of that trial Schiff will have more respect for due process.

So when the good old boys like Newt and the bunch got together on the night of Obama's inauguration and planned their strategy for sidelining his entire legislative agenda to the extent possible, what would that be called?

When did Trump leak information on Obama the way Schiff has on Trump?

When did Newt and Company LEAK information about Obama to get an investigation?

To what leak are you referring?

It's just that there have been so many... Valerie Plame being outed as a CIA operative comes to mind, but I doubt that's the one you're talking about so I'll need more specificity please.

Have you not been paying attention, Adam Schiff said he did not leak any information he just exposed it....lol

not really sure what Adam Schiff considers leaking information but when you have exposed information before it is released...that is leaking it...

Eh... IIRC Bush gave Obama a SHIT TON of cash before leaving office! The voters also gave him the Presidency and a super majority in congress. From what I read about the Obama Administrations propensity to spy and cheat, I think they were just planning a strategy to exist long enough for Obama to term out.

No investigations into Obama or any other President like this in the history of EVER! Over two years the President has been unfairly held back, at the nations expense! Had this false cloud not have been over the Presidents head from day one, I am positive this nation would be much better off in terms of trade deals and other achievements! The fact we lost two years over some bogus and corrupt Obama era operatives is completely unacceptable! Who did these people think they were? They weren't the President of the United States! I say throw the book at them!

Nixon is actually a lot more in line with the investigation about to take place on Obama, Nixon like Obama spied on the other party....

nevermind the two have ZERO to do with one another or anything remotely to do with SPYING....
