There has been A LOT of chatter about it and lots of photos!
One of my customers who claims to have driven one of the experimental versions like what you see all zebra printed up on the road claims it had GM's very first V12 and that such an animal may be the cherry on top, or at least an option for the very top of the line. I did not see this for myself but I have no reason to doubt him... GM may well have made an experimental V12 and put it in this car - but then again he could have been mistaken or whatever... You just never know but I thought I'd mention it.
I for one would really like to see it in bright red... you never know, my very first brand new car ever might be a Corvette... It is probably the only vehicle I would consider buying new if only because I baby mine so much... but I always wonder what the other guy did to her before me! LOL, and in keeping with that tradition I am of the group that feels that to not drive your car because you don't want to wear it out for the next guy is a lot like not fucking your woman because you want her to be tighter for the next guy... screw that! If I ever got a brand new one I'd drive it! But I would baby it just the same as I do my C4 which is to say no winter driving unless it's departing or entering a western or southern winter vacation, and no rain if it can be helped.
I am very excited to see the new C8 Mid engine Corvette! But I know that the C8 will never bring back them old memories when I was a kid dreaming of it in car magazines. For me that feeling is still as strong today as it was when I first bought it! Well, minus the "new to me" factor of course...
