How NYC solves homeless problem,

Ship them off to other cities, let them deal with it. Year rent in their pockets? Yeah, that will buy a weeks worth drugs and booze.

NYC secretly exports homeless to Hawaii and other states without telling receiving pols

New York City generously shares its homeless crisis with every corner of America.

From the tropical shores of Honolulu and Puerto Rico, to the badlands of Utah and backwaters of Louisiana, the Big Apple has sent local homeless families to 373 cities across the country with a full year of rent in their pockets as part of Mayor Bill de Blasios Special One-Time Assistance Program. Usually, the receiving city knows nothing about it.

City taxpayers have spent $89 million on rent alone since the programs August 2017 inception to export 5,074 homeless families 12,482 individuals to places as close as Newark and as far as the South Pacific, according to Department of Homeless Services data obtained by The Post. Families who once lived in city shelters decamped to 32 states and Puerto Rico.

The city also paid travel expenses, through a separate taxpayer-funded program called Project Reconnect, but would not divulge how much it spent. A Friday flight to Honolulu for four people would cost about $1,400. A bus ticket to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the same family would cost $800.

Add to the tab the cost of furnishings, which the city also did not disclose. One SOTA recipient said she received $1,000 for them.

DHS defends the stratospheric costs, saying it actually saves the city on shelter funding which amounts to about $41,000 annually per family, as compared to the average yearly rent of $17,563 to house families elsewhere.

But critics say the stop-gap solution has been fraught with problems, and ultimately has failed to help curb the citys homelessness.

Not only are officials in towns where the citys homeless land up in arms, but hundreds of the homeless families are returning to the five boroughs and some are even suing NYC over being abandoned in barely livable conditions. Multiple outside agencies and organizations have opened investigations into SOTA.

IIRC, Hawaii (also a Democrat strong hold) was also doing something similar to this by buying it's homeless a one-way ticket to the mainland! Paid for by the taxpayers of Hawaii!

So it would seem the failed policy of the Democrats encourages homelessness and when this becomes too obvious they pay to send these downtrodden people elsewhere!

Hawaii lawmakers want to buy homeless one-way tickets off island

While I was in Nashville Tennessee I was approached by a homeless person who claimed to be living on the streets, he showed me a NYC license and claimed that the local shelters in Nashville would not take him in because they only cater to Tennessee residents!

Obviously in Nashville they have come to understand that people would vacation there, over-stay their welcome and then sponge off the local homeless shelters while they panhandle their necessities.

It is pretty messed up and you have to figure most of these people will eventually end up in jail costing the tax payers anyway.

Yet Democrat run cities seem to get a pass for this kind of thing since they keep doing it and getting away with it.

Glad I never go there.

I saw enough panhandlers in WA state 79-97 It wasn't the camps, shit, needles it is now but they had their places to beg or sleep. Funny, if you made eye contact they WERE going to beg so when I saw the wheele turning and the mouth starting to open I would quickly ask "gotta quataa?" They would spin mad!!!

Maybe Mr.Trumpdt could build some islands in the Carribean, & offer refuge & rehab there ?...Or make peace with China, & send them over ?...There's apparently 50-milllion apartments that are new-builds, & unsettled yet.

In all honesty though, I'm not sure if there's anything more tell-tailing about how great America is, & the state of matters, when you see how a society treats it's own citizens.

They're Americans & should be healed where they reside, not mailed-away elsewhere like stamps on a letter !

China would be good. Most would be reeducated or executed for crimes.
