I believe it was a weapon, as the timing of the release with the protest in China - with Wuhan being ground zero, it's hard to ignore them coincidences. 

I think I will take the advice and stock up a little more than just a week, if nothing happens no big deal - I just won't have to go to the grocery store for a while. 

You can tell they have been ramping this up in the media for awhile now, and I remember the whole panic during the ebola outbreak. 

All we can do now is the best we can do... 

If this virus does indeed pass in the Spring like most others, then it's safe to say that it may not have been man made, rather a mutation of the virus that man has found the vaccine for and perhaps an offshoot of that.

If it does end up being a serious threat and goes beyond Spring then I would say it was a weaponized strain that either got out, or was let out. The HIV element I keep hearing about is concerning, unless these people in China were screwing the animals before they ate them?

Obviously, you are not aware that Wuhan contains a level 4 biohazards laboratory. Level 4 is for mass contagions, like Ebola, H1N5, Dengue fever and a host of other nasties.

And the HIV genome is vastly different from the standard flu virus (corona virus), and COVID-19 contains both. Its like water and oil.

Seems that every four years they really sensationalize a particular virus, swine flu, HIN1, Ebola, SARS and the list goes on and on... but at the same time it's never a bad idea to draw attention to any potentially dangerous situation, especially those that can transfer so easily.

I have yet to see this virus to be classified as "airborne" yet, however that seems to be the Defcon 5 of all virus classifications that brings on the maximum panic. Right now it's just considered to be human contact, or at least close human contact. Obviously if someone infected sneezes on you, that is what I would consider an "airborne" transmission, however that is a very close proximity transmission. It has also been said this virus can live on a surface for up to or over a week! However I'd be interested in the details of that study since obviously things like heat and humidity would greatly influence the findings. They say come spring most of the virus will die off, but what they really mean is media coverage will die off... Right now the story is hot, and the more people who are infected and die will determine just how HOT it will get.

As I said, shit like this happens every four years, and wouldn't you know it, a President serves four year terms... 

One never wants to be unprepared for a crisis, so I have already began to stock up a little extra on the staples... Things like food, water, cleaning supplies, ammo and other such necessities. All of this while also trying to limit my exposure. 

I don't butt chug anything, although I have always wondered if that actually works. 

I got the bottle from a customer who was looking down the barrel of an $400+ repair for his sliding rear door on a Honda. I was able to get the door to close and locked out and the owner gave me that bottle of Gold label as thanks since I couldn't really charge him.

I have had gold label in the past, but I must admit it was much better this time.. In days old the Gold Label used to be 18 year old Scotch, now days it's just in reserve batches and no age distinction. You have to get Platinum label now if you want 18 y/o Scotch from Johnnie Walker, which I have also had, again from the same guy bartered for car repairs. The Gold is much smoother than the 18 y/o Platinum but if you want my opinion the 15 y/o Green label is the smoothest you can get from Johnnie Walker. I have never had the Blue Label, which also does not carry an age distinction, but cost over $200 a bottle. Too rich for my blood. 

Friend of mine invited me to have some 23 y/o Elijah Craig bourbon, I told him I am not worthy as the stuff is NLA and cost over $1000 a bottle! I am a firm believer that if you don't know what you're missing - you're not missing anything at all! LOL, thus my reason for not taking him up on the offer.

It would seem the Wuhan virus is starting to bite... markets are showing signs of fear, people are buying up toilet paper and yesterday this forum had less than 100 views in a day! LOL

Now I won't deny my awesome personality isn't a contributing factor, but people are being distracted by the liberal news who is stoking this wild fire with coal. 

Some of the stories about people breaking self imposed quarantine and then going to major events just reminds you that here in America, only the strong will survive! That being said, a lot of people are just saying fuck it! Thumbing their noses at the Wuhan the way Ferris Buller did to Edward Rooney. I for one have been taking a little more caution however, I don't think I have been downtown since last year and really - if I can avoid getting sick it's worth it. The irony is my oldest kid seems to be still getting around, you know - the one who says he's not worried because it's just killing old people... meanwhile I sit her thinking, maybe I should hose him down with alcohol and check his temperature with my infra-red automotive thermometer each time he returns home!? LOL, probably doesn't even matter since he just seems to sleep, eat and get his laundry cleaned around here... But hey, I am not complaining.. or am I?

In all honesty, I'm convinced the whole thing is just a propaganda stunt, to see how the populations react around the world.

The testing procedures are corrupted, & require multiple repeat tests for confirmation...And, apparently you may well have the virus, & not get sick, but be a transmitter only.

Answers...

A1. - It's hard to say, but we know that Wuhan is where the virus originated. Things that China has said recently makes you wonder if they did it on purpose and you can't ever put anything past a communist.

A2 - This is bullshit, the amount he cut is no-where near what they have just authorized to deal with this specific issue! So in other words, even if he hadn't made cuts there wouldn't have been enough to handle this outbreak, thus it's a moot point.

A3 - I don't know Rastus, I figured if anyone did it would be you!

A4 - Everything changes our DNA... If you get sick you're basically mutating! But no, I don't really want anything from China if I can help it! It was my suggestion to cut them off totally rather than put sanctions on them.

A5 - I considered putting some money into the market for my very first time the other day when it crashed 2000+ points on the DOW, but I think it has a ways to go. I don't begrudge people who make money at the market, but the idea that someone could be manipulating it and cheating does bother me. Everyone claims people are getting rich at the market, but the way the market works is that you could be up today and broke tomorrow! If you take your winnings out of the market they are taxed heavy so most people put it back in the market to avoid the taxes.

I hope people that abuse their power and influence are smacked down much like Harvey Weinstein and it's usually just a matter of time before they are.
