Can't blame this black guy for his own murder, bummer...

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/minnesota-ag-says-floyd-bears-no-responsibility-for-his-death/ar-BB1g2LeH?li=BBnbfcL

In an interview with "60 Minutes" that aired on Sunday, CBS's Scott Pelley asked Ellison if Floyd, in his view, bears any responsibility for what happened the day in May 2020 that former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for more than nine minutes. Floyd was pronounced dead soon after.

Ellison responded unequivocally, telling Pelley, "No, he doesn't."

The interview comes less than a week after a jury found Chauvin guilty of second- and third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in Floyd's death.

The encounter between Chauvin and Floyd was captured on video and Floyd is seen arguing with officers who ordered him to enter a police car.

Pelley pushed Ellison on this fact, saying, "If he'd gotten in the car, he'd be alive today."

Ellison did not change his interpretation, telling Pelley that "police officers are paid and trained to deal with people who are having problems."

He said if officers are allowed "to use deadly force on people who are just having a bad day, then we're going to be in a very, very lethal situation."

"We need officers who have the judgment and the ability to discern what somebody is going through so that people survive these encounters," he added.

Ellison also noted that Floyd was not armed, and told Pelley that "he never threatened a soul, he never struck out on - against anybody."

He said Floyd "did everything the officers said" except enter the car because of his claustrophobia and anxiety.

On body camera video, Floyd can be heard telling officers that he was claustrophobic.

Ellison also questioned how Chauvin could "justify" not rendering CPR and not heeding Floyd's statements that he could not breathe, concluding "So I'm hard-pressed to find how George Floyd bears responsibility for what happened here."

Chauvin is currently being held at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Oak Park Heights, which is the only maximum security prison in Minnesota, according to The New York Times. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 16, and faces a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.

Chauvin's trial spanned three weeks and concluded with 10 hours of jury deliberation.

Juries have sent countless innocent people to jail...

I was not on the Jury for this trial so it really does not matter what you or I think... he was found guilty and outside of an appeal that is that.

I will say that I have been on a Jury before, I have also selected a Jury before and tried a case before a Jury and trust me when I say there are some pretty ignorant and damaged people out there in the world PowerStroker!

If that is not enough, the entire system is set up against the Defendant because the court and the prosecutor are one, therefore most on a Jury will be unfairly influnced by the prosecution, who will almost always have a uniformed officer sitting at their table just to re-enforce that influence. Not only that, the court will often times direct the Jury how they should vote and how to examine the evidence. The only thing different about this trial is that for the first time publicly a police officer was tried and convicted for murder while on the job.

Do I think Police should be held accountable? Absolutely! However in this case, having seen video of the entire altercation it's hard to overlook the fact that Floyd resisted arrest, he claimed he was claustrophobic but the Mercedes ML they pulled him over in wasn't much bigger. I think what happend here was that Floyd injested a large quantity of drugs and over dosed right there on the spot. The cop had to have seen people around video recording him, so why he kept his knee on his neck for so long is a good question. Had he not had his knee on Floyd's neck I don't think he would have been convicted, but that photo with his knee on Floyd's neck says 1000's words - none of them good. I think Floyd would have over dosed and died on the street there either way. I'm just glad I'm not a cop in MN!

I guess we could go back and fourth with the could have, should have or would haves... but the knee on his neck image was powerful, even more powerful than Floyds very long criminal record and apparently stronger than the fact he was high, resisting arrest and passing counterfeit money and COVID.

Plus you can't tell me that a single person on that Jury wasn't affraid for their safety... The mob there burnt down and destroyed an entire city, do you really think any person on that Jury had faith the police could protect them after they went home? The answer is NO! So the entire trial was pretty much the same way they tried Witches back in the day... Throw them in the water, if they drown they weren't a witch, if they survive they are and should be burned at the stake.

How do you think the police should have handled this PowerStroker? What do you do when a person will not comply with commands, or is so high they can't even understand them?

What the police could have done differently is not crush a mans neck who is already face down and handcuffed behind his back. When it was clear that one of them was in the process of committing murder, the other 3 could have intervened. They could also have made an effort to de-escalate the situation. They could have asked Mr. Floyd if he perhaps had a different $20 bill because the owner of Cup Foods didn't trust the first one given to him. And when a man says he can't breathe, they could have believed him. And after Mr. Floyd went unconscious and had no pulse, they could have let the paramedics take over instead of letting Chauvin spend an extra 3 minutes on a dead man's neck for apparently no other reason than to make sure the job is finished. The police could have enough common sense to know that when a person is dead, they aren't resisting anymore, and for that matter, so could a lot of people apparently. And going forward, what the police can do is learn from this so that it isn't ever repeated.

And what Chauvin can spend the rest of his life doing now, since he seems to enjoy spending so much time on his knees anyway...

Such passion from you PowerStroker!

All that being said, I am SURE you agree the person and agency responsible for shooting and killing Ashli Babbitt should be held to the exact same standards, right?

No, I don't agree. Sometimes the shooting of white people is justified, this is one such case. I would go a step further and say that if the Capital police had enough firepower, they would have been justified in using it to mow down anybody who crossed the threshold that day. One does not get to storm a federal facility, in this case the seat of democracy itself, and expect such an institution not to defend itself. If she wanted to be there legitimately, then she could have gotten herself elected. That she was the only idiot shot there that day by Capitol police is astonishing to me. It is amazing the restraint they displayed. Though I would strongly suggest that the people involved in the murder of officer Sicknick face a similar fate to that of Chauvin.

Im sure glad you said that PowerStroker! I dont in any way agree with you but it reminds me that people like you are nothing but partisan pieces of shit, but dont feel bad, thats one step up from the piece of shit you idiots in that shit hole called MN destroyed your entire state for. Your dumb ass thinks cops are corrupt but they arent nothing compared to crooked Democrat politicians you suck off daily.

Regardless of the terrible aftermath & its results from people storming the White House, the thing to learn from it all imo, is to question the "why" they were so worked-up to do so in the first place, as that's the real cause of the matter.

No one likes seeing their country turned to shyte, & the US-of-A really needs to clean-out-the-swamp, as this mess indicates.

Solutions...

1. One person = one vote of equal value against another, regardless of where they live, color, race, religion, or social status.

2. Each & every elected official, that's nominated for presidency, shall have equal funding for their respective campaigns,-paid for by tax revenue, equal TV air-time on say the ABC only, & no interference/funding/kick-backs from Corporations, over-seas interests, or media inflated / controlled / initiated false news to deceive the public.

3. Social Media outlets must ban politicians using their services whilst elected, & working for the people.

Should the US-of-A be able to follow these simple directives, you'll get results & more honest people leading the way.

1st off, if the SCOTUS had stepped up and ruled on the matter, like they should have, nobody would have stormed congress. (Rastus it was the House that got stormed, not the White House)

2nd off, after seeing Obama, Trump and now Biden in the White House I am pretty sure our founding fathers made it to where a complete idiot could perform the duties of being POTUS... clearly no experence is necessary, and the more experence you got the more it doesn't even matter.

I don't feel the election should be a "one size fits all" in terms of donations and airtime... I think you run what you brung and hope it's enough! ALL IN or GTFO kind of mentality...

But I am all for equal voting rights, with valid and proper ID of course! Mail in ballots should be sent out ONLY for the elderly, sick or deployed! The rest should have to request and prove they can't make it to the polls to get one.

R1.Whoops...I only ever scan the news headlines every-other-day, & I thought it was 1600 Pennsylvania ave that got stormed...I didn't want to check-out-the-story as I thought this was going to be another "Oh shyte" moment, & wanted to wait until the dust settles...( I get "1440" sent to my e-mail box, & it has around 100-staff that report only the most popular news headlines being read in the US-of-A & that's all I scroll through, only occasionally opening up a story to read with the link provided. You should check-it-out) !

https://join1440.com/

R2. LOL !!! You forgot to add GWB jr to that list...But that's OK. I think POTUS's that have displayed courage & service in the military "could" have a more balanced view of world matters, less so the folks that somehow dodged-the-draft. ( Don't forget GWB jr. mistakenly invaded Iraq whilst claiming to seek Osama Bin Laden for 9/11, (& all-the-while the Bin Laden family were hiding-out in Washington DC as presidential guests...And Osama was in the good-company of a US-of-A hospital in SaudI Arabia at the time)..

R3. Fair enough !!!I tend to think that in today's world, your "stripes" should be earned by displaying that you're the "real deal" for the job, & thus each party has its allocated funds to support your campaign, that have been equally distributed by the incumbent admin, overseen by the shadow admin, for the people, & in fairness to evenly balanced campaigning.

R4. Yes, if the people are expected to believe that in the US-of-A, every citizen is an equal, & are there-by protected by the constitution, then their votes should carry equal weight.
