Should HSBC have a valid reason for failing to maintain their lines? [2 vote(s)]

HSBC Defaults on US issued credit lines! Pulling out of the USA!

Well folks, seems like our 'ole pals over there at HSBC in Eng-a-land and Hong Kong / Shanghai are pulling out of the United States market!

Just received notice today that HSBC can no longer support it's credit line on my HSBC Platinum card! So I immediatly closed the account!

Since the start of the Russian war with Ukraine, HSBC has also sold most all of it's branches here in the USA with it's Eastern branches going to Citizens Bank and the Western ones going to CATY. Makes you wonder how long ago in advance the British knew the Russian war was coming? Sort of like how in late 2019 a lot of credit card companies cut lines just before the global COVID-19 pandemic.

I guess HSBC and British banks need to free up their capital for all them Russian Oligarchs who are now broke and banned from the banking system...

Long time members in here know my possition right now... with a near 800 credit score and no missed payments for over 14 years!

HSBC's inability to maintain their lines is typical for a lot of big banks... they make themselves look big by offering lines they cannot maintain... then they make US look bad when they have to lower them.

Beware of HSBC! Had I ever missed a payment, been late or even had a declining credit score I might have understood... but none of that is the case... it's just your typical credit card companies trying to lower my score...

Other credit card companies that have cut my line in the past include,

Citi Bank, Barclays Bank, Synchrony Bank, First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO) and even AMEX has on every single card they have issued us! Although in AMEX's defense they did return many of my credit lines close to their original limits after I complaind and that's why they are still in my wallet... But I'm not going to be tolerating anymore BS from any company that fails to maintain it's lines from here on out... Each one that fails to maintain it's line without a good reason will be reported to the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) after I terminate our relationship. It's really the only way to be sure.

So long HSBC... You have just been fired!
