I haven't really been following Canadian events, but yeah, a resignation would certainly be in order for any Nazi sympathizers.

Kinda sounds like the Canadian House Speaker was unaware of the history of the man, and apologized.

 

I have subsequently become aware of more information which causes me to regret my decision to recognize this individual,

Not quite NAZI's, but you may as well think so by the behaviour.

It appears that Corporations, to get their way, employ ex-military-soldiers to do their dirty-work & beat laws & politics...
