The new "Faguar"

Anyone else disgusted with this new "woke" ad from Jaguar?

I think it's safe to say a once prestigious brand has been run into the ground after being purchased by a competitor.

What next? A free case of Bud Light to anyone who buys a new Jag? There isn't even a single image of a Jaguar in their new insulting ad! That means they did it to 100% piss off their vintage base.

Now you'll really have to pause and give thought before waving to another Jaguar owner on the street!

Yo,

Are you suggesting that Stoma traded his Maserati-in for a Jaguar, & then bought the company Stellar ???...

While it's true the early 1990's LeBaron convertibles were basically a Maserati with a Chrysler badge -- I think it's a big streach for Stoma to claim his LeBaron was a Maserati.

Think the XKE only came with an in-line six or a V12.

Yo,

The older Jags do have a certain appeal, with quality leather & wood-grain appointments, so you feel like your cruising in something special. I've driven a couple of 5.3 ltr V-12's, & though there's a novelty there, & a strange exhaust note, the outright performance was surprisingly uninspired. I expected to get a big smile but ended-up with a frown instead...

The inline six XKE could do the 1/4 mile in about 14 seconds... not bad for the 1960's out of a six banger.

They had hemispherical heads, dual overhead camshafts indexed with micro toothed gears and even electric fuel pumps! Not only that the XKE had one of the best independent rear suspension setups for the time.

It's a shame that the Indian company Ta-Ta has done this to Jaguar and it just goes to show why I make it a point to try and keep these automotive manfatures with their respective owners in this forum as they change hands.

It's getting to be that time of year, Rastus!

Was the 12 then, that's right. Thinking Viper I think.
