With regards to the blue verified check marks for what Twitter considered to be "Special People"... he should leave that shit alone and not charge anyone. He should then have a green check mark that looks the same as the blue for the low/no dollar people who might not have any, or a lot of money but they are funny as hell and make good conversation. Then you could have a specail Gold check mark that looks cooler than both the green and blue for people who pay $20 a month! Because while these people usually arent the funniest, or most popular it helps others know they got money, which is enough for some people - but as Elon is learning it's not everything to everyone...

Now, for people with the blue check marks who Twitter thinks are "special" they could also have the Gold check mark if they wanted to pay the $20 a month... or even the green one if they wanted a low cost option to at least look like they were contributing "a little"...

The point is, advertisers don't just want rich people! They might even want to consider a "white" check-mark for people that just have no money to spare but still want to be verified. A lot of people on Twitter were using their real names, which is very odd for ANY social media site... especially one like Twitter! The reason people were using their real names on Twitter was because there were celebrities (aka the special people in Twitters eyes with blue check marks)... having a verified user who doesn't pay is an advertisers DREAM COME TRUE... a verified user is now monitized and even though you're not making as much on them, you're hauling in advertising dollars!

And this is the BIG ONE right here... content moderation! If someone is verified either white, green, gold, blue or a combination of all four - their post CAN NOT BE TOUCHED! They CAN NOT BE BANNED! The only content moderation that should exist on Twitter is the end user! If someone has a beef with something someone said online, there recourse will be to advise said butt-hurt individual to BLOCK! PERIOD!

There needs not be ANY content moderation ever, for ANY REASON outside things that are illegal! It should also be set up to where all connections to Twitter are USA business transactions and thus can not be challenged by other countries since out of country users would basiclly be transacting business in the USA and not their native countries.

All this talk about bankrupting Twitter this soon after purchasing it looks very-very suspect on it's face... like did he plan on doing this? Is Twitter or SpaceX the next one to go bankrupt?

I find the timing of this to be highly suspicious... right after Twitter Blue was suspended, long banned users were allowed back? In other words, the people who were unfaily suspended are now being unfairly denied their voice on the platform? Because trust me, I have been using Twitter since yesterday and you can already tell they have done something to prevent people from @'ing famous people, and they have also made it to where @'ing them does not result in more traffic like it used to... You could @ Elon Himself and your post will get no views.

I'm not going to pay the $8 now, I think this is all just a pony show to run Twitter into the ground... it makes no sense from a business perspective... They claim it's to cut down on the parody accounts but honestly there is something more nefarious going on behind the scenes.

Watching the liberals melt down has really been entertaining on Twitter... for so many years they thought they were so fucking funny getting people banned that it's almost poetic justice!

Watching them all try their hand at the German Mastodon server and how crappy that is... only to have them running for a new forum called "Hive" is somewhat funny if you ask me, considering they all seem to have a hive mentality anyway! LOL

Then of course I'm sure that Jack's new "Bluesky" should be rolling out soon, but if it's anything like Mastodon in how it opperates, I don't think it will be very popular... unless of course the complexities are worked out where ordinary people don't have to care about the back end of the internet... for many, they don't want to deal with such things... and honestly Mastodon is a big scam anyway since it all really just feeds thru one server anyway... at least if you want to be on their "Top Servers" list... I myself wouldn't waste the money because it's not a very fun place to hang out anyway...

What all these new sites does do is saturate the market! That is why it will be VERY important for Elon and Twitter to stay running and reliable... there have been attempts to slow, or "crash" Twitter... hell I even tried going on a mass posting spree during these attempts and yet even though Twitter fired most of it's people, the site still ran without any issues! That is what you call solid reliability... something that the smaller forums will never be able to achieve because they will only see massive sudden influxes that will only serve to make the service seem un-relaible... in many cases a smaller system can really get taxed in bandwith should they see these large spikes and that could put them out of business at worst...

Well Stellar, I must admit to not understanding lots of things, but I do try to make the effort to learn ! I'm happy for you that your back on-line with these folks, if that's what you really want. I have no need for a Twitter account, though I admit to seeing what Dr.Greer has been up to if there' been no new news on his website / Ambassador forum, though with the new film, there' plenty of activity in my mailbox, so no need for a Twitter visit via his links lol !

As for the cartoon, it appeared in my mailbox ( along with most of the 'toons & memes I post-up ), & I only post them up if they roughly fit the threads here, simply for laughs only. I don't know any of these people, politicians or other, & usually I'm reserved about "slingin'-the-shyte", but laughs are laughs, & much needed ! It is never my intention to offend anyone in here.

These folks in these powerful positions make themselves dart-boards per-se, but for my part, there's nothing personal attached with any of my posts, only the laugh factor, unless their actions / activity directly affects us all.

The only folks I do have an issue with ( & so should everyone here ), are the nuke industry & its affiliations, plus any people involved with the unfolding of "The New World Order" & its activities. This includes needless wars, & the bankers & the stock-holders directly involved with Vanguard etc etc, as they're all interlinked, & screwing us all over.

I wanted to post-up Thanks & well-being in the Veterans-Day thread, as these people sacrifice all for the better of everyone, have no doubt. My issue is that with the knowledge now available about the real intentions for all these wars the last century, WW-I included, it appears that we all were deceived by the folks that profit from these undertakings, & so that means that it's difficult to send well-wishes to these folks, when the truth is now available...Defense is defense, but we-the-West are not acting in defensive ways, & haven't for a long time. Mr. Eisenhower had great insight, & it's tragic that no one listened to his advice (given within his "Farewell adress to the nation", especially since he was a 5-star general & awesome POTUS. (People like Allen Dulles need their heads read).

That said, I also know of a young fellow from a forum called Strat Talk that I used to spend time on, who was a keen guitarist, was playing fine, married, a 1967 Mustang in the garage that he restored, but no on-going work to support his new life, & the only option for him was to join the Air-Force for income, like his father before him...So it's a complicated issue when the only job available is in the defense industry, & that moved him away from his home & family that he wanted to be around...The poor fellow was really confused, & didn't really want to join up. Months later, you could tell he was glad to be back home for a while, but he wasn't really happy about what he was, & what he was doing. Enough said, I'm sure he's not the only one.

As for Elon, he's the new guy in the spotlight playing-the-game per-se, since he's been allocated that role by the above people already mentioned.

You make some very good and valid points here Rastus, especially with regards to courtroom strategy... that is one thing I have always felt was unfair about that forum (aka courtroom)... something said jokingly at a bar, or even on Twitter is going to sound completely out of place in the professional and often times conservative countroom. This is where having a team of good lawyers allow them to peel back this image enough to sway a Jury in a high profile case... but for everyone else? You're just fucked.

I will be mindful of these suggestions in my dealings there from here forward, and perhaps prune my Tweets once I am able to view my profile on a time line, rather than having to try and scroll back eight years! Because that is what I have invested in Twitter, EIGHT YEARS!

I should also mention that right now, at least in Social Media there is a HUGE disruption... people are splintering, and the social media platforms have been shaken to their core! The saturation in this space right now has companies from Mastodon (sucks), to Hive (sucks even more) to another company called "Post" that has a waiting list (also sucks too, but sucks longer because you have to wait lol)...

Some are even floating the rumor that Musk and Apple are going to butt heads when he rolls out his new subscription based model come the 29th... funny too how he has decided, much as I have suggested; to offer a Gold (Business), Gray (politician and government) and traditional blue (personal) verification mark. They claim to have figured out a way to verify people better, which for a guy like Musk who helped make PayPal shouldn't have been a problem in the first place... but he underestimated just how dirty the liberals were. Apple is also a very liberal shithole, run by an asshole of pure liberal ideology... So the idea has been floated that when Musk rolls out his verification / subscription service that Twitter will be removed from the APP store... Musk has retorted by saying he will just make his OWN PHONE, and that Apple can go fuck itself! I'd really like for this to be the case becasue Tim Cook has run Apple so far into the fucking ground that we are probably a decade behind the curve! That asshole needs to be fired ASAP! Further proof of this is the fact that Apple does not even have any of it's high end phones to sell this Christmas, because they couldn't see the writing on the wall the past two years...

It's going to be VERY interesting... it's possible Musk could bite off more than he can chew, but honestly Apple deserves a good ass-kicking to the point they are down in the gutter again like when Bill Gates had to save them. They have really lost their way.

But this all just gives rise to Elon Musk who must be careful not to over inflate his ego... it's becoming personal to him, much like how the election has been to Trump... you just can't help it... it sucks you in whole...

If there was a silver lining to all this, it's the fact that there may not even be any higher end iPhones this year to buy even if I wanted to get the kids new phones! Now that would be just great!

After seeing what I have seen go down on Twitter the past few weeks I think I'm going to hold off on giving Twitter any money for their blue check marks...

Did anyone see the LIVE broadcast (first ever on Twitter) that Elon did on the release of the Tesla Semi yesterday? I did, and honestly when you watch Elon Musk deliver his remarks it makes you wonder how this guy could be running a multi-billion dollar company!

I think he was stoned out of his mind!

Anyway, the Tesla Semi looks to be quite interesting... although I wonder how safe these things will be in the braking department? On a normal Semi the brakes are automatically engaged any time the truck is off (air brakes)... I don't know that the Tesla Semi has air brakes, but I'd be curious how they got around a lot of DOT laws to allow this rig on the road... Is the DOT even requiring that Tesla and Elon Musk give one of these rigs to the Government for independent testing? Or are they just going to allow Tesla and Elon Musk to handle that part on their own?

One interesting thing about the Tesla Semi is that the motors are supposedly the size of a football! And they claim the Tesla Semi can do 500 miles on a single charge! They didn't however say how long it took to recharge one.

Anyway, it does appear that Elon purchased Twitter so that he could advertise his products for free... I can understand why other auto manufatures are holding off on advertisements... it would be like paying your competitor money to advertise.

Anyway, I tried to buy Elon and Twitters "Twitter Blue" tonight at 12:00am on Monday only to find nothing has changed and following the link to buy it is just an infanate loop going back to the same two pages... it's very frustrating considering Elon himself has been bragging about it for almost a WEEK now! It just makes me look bad, and honestly I don't need any help in that department! I do a good job of that all on my own! But regardless I am giving serious thoughts to not giving him a dime and just staying a regular old shadow banned account that will get no reach. The platform really hasn't improved and I think they make it impossible to go back in your own timeline in years or months because they don't want you pruning your own profile.

It may very well be that Elon will roll out at 3:00AM since they are in California PST, rather than my EST... if this is the case, I might be able to overlook it... but man, I don't know if this is what he does to people who buy his more expensive products like Tesla cars and such, but it's not a good look on Elon, Tesla or Twitter for that matter... kind of tarnishes the brand.

I just wanted to get this off my chest because I did say that I would support Twitter and Musk for awhile, but I'm not going to pay him to look like a fool. I'm pretty jaded about the whole thing myself... he's sort of coming off as a putz! Lord knows I have setbacks and such, but I didn't just pay $44 billion for a web-forum that can't even figure out how to take payments! I'm really starting to wonder Elon's real involvement with PayPal, or even any of his other companies for that matter.

I've given this guy Elon Musk pleanty of opportunity to be a fan of his, but he doesn't seem to be doing much... outside of my account being un-banned (primary reason I was going to give him and his project some support) nothing has really changed. I guess I'll just continue to use it as a mere mortal and save the money... or maybe he will have his ducks in a row in another hour and 20 minutes at 3:00AM? I sure hope it's the latter because this is really a big let-down. I can only imagine the games he has been playing is to ensure he doesn't make too much money by the end of the year, you know how he needs to be showing serious red ink to offset taxes... but if that was the case he should have just bit the bullet... Elon talks about how lazy people are in terms of work, but this guy can't even manage to take a payment for something as simple as a digital icon! He's going to act like it's a huge job to put a little mark next to someones name... it's really quite pathetic the more and more I talk about it...

But like I said above Rastus, we all have our favorites!

On December 12th I paid $8.00 to Twitter for their "Twitter Blue"... which at the time advertised one new feature and three others that were "coming soon"... in addition to that, you got a "blue verified checkmark" with your payment...

Only today it's December 15th, my card has been charged and yet there is no promised "verified" checkmark!

Elon Musk and Twitter are saying it can "take some time" to verify someone, as if my payment with my personal credit card in the same name as the Twitter account wasn't enough! I have to admit, I am starting to wonder exactly what sort of "verification" my account is currently undergoing where it takes DAYS to simply place a small icon next to my name... I think perhaps this needs to be investigated by congress...

For good measure I will also be filing a complaint with the FTC and FCC around the 72 hour mark... this is outright crazy at this point... Everyone knows Twitter is going down by the stern, but getting a Twitter blue check mark has always been somewhat of a "bucket list" item for me... nothing more, and nothing less... But for Elon Musk and Twitter to play games like this, after having taken money from me... well, I will see his disrespect and raise it with some performance! Because if Elon and Twitter will not perform, I WILL!

Honestly I'd rather be banned again than to pay this idiot $8 a month for this kind of BS...

This is a good thing imo, as there's no stock sitting on shelves awaiting to be sold, & that also means that the author / publisher doesn't have to fork-out $$$ in advance, & then wait for the return over time...Plus it reduces the demand on our forests / paper, as none is wasted, only made after purchase...

Perhaps Elon & Vanguard are collecting the money from everyone, before they "give you" your new toys. That way, there's no outlay from them at all, as you pay for the development process.

RTR1 - Fair enough, I'm just more or less writing about my experiences. It's a hoby of mine, just like Twitter. I don't know who owns it, but I guess Elon got in deep with some people... he's been selling a lot of stock the past week.

RTR2 - LOL, clearly that was a joke... "Can you read" was absolutle American sarcasm. Obviously you can read or how the hell would you be responding? LOL

RTR3 - One new feature, but I have screen shots and the "Verified Blue Check Mark" was advertised as being an immediate part of the plan... barring the clearing of the payment at latest I assumed. I cancled my subscription on Twitter a few hours ago.

What kind of turn around is needed in this digital age? Especially for something so trivial and insignificant as an Emoji icon? The FACT that he's trying to play it off like he can't verify people who pay with credit cards in the same name as the account is what bothers me! The guy has cars driving around on the streets by themselves, sends rockets into outer space and implants computer chips in brains... but in four days after paying they could not even put an icon next to my name? I'm not buying it! So I canceled my subscription and disputed the charge with AMEX... They instantly gave me a write-off credit. I also canceled my membership on the Twitter side so it does not charge me again next month! I know it was only $8, but again all I was paying for was an emoji that said I was who I said. If they can't get that right, then I feel sorry for anyone who has paid this man BIG BUCKS... I learned a cheap lesson here about Testla and Elon Musks business practices! Do you think I would EVER buy a Tesla car, solar panel or anything else from any of his companies (including stock) again? The answer is NO, no I would not! Far as I am concerned he can't even be trusted with $8.

It's totally unfair to compare my CD with Elon's shenanigans... I put actual work into them, my own two hands! I even host most all of the information for free on the web forum! I keep updating it as I go along too! That is why the W126 forum is dedicated to the CD folks! I also maintain a few domain names in hopes someday they can be utilized and help folks. Elon, however, does not do any work... he bought out Twitter for $44 Billion with borrowed money and he is running it into the ground. I don't think it's wise to play games with people over $8 and a digital Emoji... I also filed complaints with the FCC and FTC before canceling. I tried to call his phone number listed on my statement, but it was disconnected! You get that? DISCONNECTED!

I admire Elon re-investing his money into another company, but if he runs his other companies like he runs Twitter... I am afraid the market is in for a BIG SHOCK if and when his ship sinks, which could be soon with the way he has been selling stock. I suppose he will have a lot of write offs this year, and we have not heard the last from Elon Musk, I'm sure! But he has heard the last of my wallet! He will have to gin up some other sucker to pay his $8 per month!

People in Elon's position have folks that transfer funds & stocks "anywhere" every-other-minute-of-the-day pending market conditions etc etc. ( Usually to avoid taxes lol ).

You hit the nail-on-the-head imo when you stated that Twitter is his "free advertising platform"...

I didn't mean any disrespect for your CD-for-members, I only used it to show that other people / companies are now managing resources in a better way, such as Lulu books.( What better way to save on resources than printing a new book for you once you've paid for it ???)...

Elon cashing-in-up-front on this "Blue thang" is speculation on my part, but it makes sense to cash-in on a promise first, & then use this money for development processes, as there's no outlay from existing funds needed. It pays for itself & then makes $$$. Keeps taxes down too I'd guess, as you'd defer it into a new subsidiary company with gov't benefits attached.

Who knows, maybe one-day the "elite" will nominate Elon-for-prez, if he plays his cards right, & adds the right bun & sauce to the folks at the Bohemian Grove sausage-festival lol !

Thanks Rastus! I really had no worries going into the transaction because I used one of my lower dollar AMEX cards... and they are excellent when it comes to customer satisfaction in the dispute process.

The complaints were only because I genuinely felt like Elon Musk and Twitter were purposely playing games... believe it or not, I waited up for the roll out... both at 12am and then 3am (taking into account California time zone)... He didn't end up rolling it out until after 8:15pm, and while I did immediatly pay for it the moment you could buy the subscription, there was no blue verification check mark... so I figured it might just take 24 hours, but when I crested the 72 hour mark I started to feel like a right-fool... To this day I don't think Elon ever intended to issue the check marks and I have little doubts that all the fake accounts the first time around (before I was un-banned) were probably his minions trying to gin up some drama. Sort of like how he has someone else releasing the "Twitter Files"... Proxy boy.

Honestly it was on my bucket list, but now it more or less just pisses me off that I wasted 72+ hours of my life on that miserable little cocksuckers full of shit ass... I'm shocked that I havent been banned, although several of my post have been "Shadow Banned" talking about the experience... the little prick even laughs at most people saying "You come on Twitter to complain about Twitter", well buddy... Guess what? You're it! I'm pretty sure my legacy domains are ALL older than his Twitter, or ANY of his businesses... but wait, there's more! My phone number also still works! Which is more than I can say for his customer service line when I called.

Honestly, the format for which they are releasing these details is somewhat self-defeating... on many levels actually!

For starters, the format itself... in traditional 256 character fashion and numbered 1/ thru however many 256 character replies it takes to get the story told... Elon said he was going to do away this this BS, but so far it's been a lot like my Blue Check... just more hot air...

And we all knew a lot of what the files are releasing... I can only imagine Elon is feeling the pressure on all fronts with the coming recession fast on it's way... I say that as someone who plans to do a lot of cutting back after this Christmas and I suspect a lot of others will be doing the same... how many get swept up in the under-toe remains to be seen but inflation is way thru the roof currently! Eggs costing $7 a dozen, a 100lb propane tank I purchased just four years ago going from $89 to $189... the list goes on and on... In fact I would dare say that the cost of EVERYTHING has gone up, with some things far more than others... but often times on lower dollar items the costs have more than doubled or trippled! Something that was .49 cents could now cost $5 and so on...

And again, Elon himself is not releasing these files... he has a proxy. Elon is thinking of doing the same by floating a poll to step down as CEO of Twitter... guess he figures most people won't realize that Twitter is a private company and thus any CEO would report to Elon. But there are a lot of suckers out there, and Elon plans to capitalize on them to the tune or $8, or $11 a pop.

Still, my account was un-banned early on... not before you could buy blue check marks, but I feel that whole thing was a scam run by Elon's proxies as well to gin up awareness of the fact he will be selling these blue checks for $8 on the web or $11 on Apple... It will be nice to see the changing of the guard there... all I know is I trusted Elon and he let me down... over $8! Talk about feeling like a cheap date! LOL, but I feel much better that AMEX gave me a credit, even if it was a write-off credit... I think a write-off credit is where they don't even bother disputing it and they just give you a credit while still allowing the shit-bag small-dollar cocksucking company to keep the money... I say this because it would appear that Twitter still has my account active as a Twitter Blue account but still to date no blue verification. I'd imagine at some point Twitter will have to issue the blue check before the month ends or they will be in essence committing fraud... I say this because it's my belief they are issuing them in the least noticable ways... It's really crooked, and for $8 I can only imagine Elon Musk Inc is about to capsize... I say this because on it's face it's a desperate move to try and monitize a status symbol, and quite honestly it only serves to prove that Elon full of shit... So why would I take his Twitter Files with anything more than a grain of salt? Truth is that I don't! I've lost a LOT of respect for Elon over this, not because I think he is overwhelmed... but because he is doing this on purpose. If you look back in this thread you will see that long ago I predicted Elon would try to run the economy into the ground, but I figured he would do so with his Teslas... He's sold so much stock recently that he probably won't have any power at Tesla...

So I guess we just sit back and watch the show!
